In terms of size, a lot of the individual states of the US are bigger than most of the countries I have visited.

I haven't been anywhere more than a 4 hour flight away from Blighty - Scotland, England, Wales, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Sardinia, Spain, Iceland
I don't think Wales even counts - since it's a principality.
And Scotland and England don't really count either, since I lived there.

So, if I were to live in Mexico for a year, I could no longer count it as a place I've visited? I don't think that's fair. If it's a country where you don't currently live, I think you get to count it.

Whoa, that's pretty cool. Heh ... I don't think I've really traveled much (from New Englans) at all. I mean ... I used to live in Massachusetts (spelling is for those who live there now), now I live in New Hampshire, my maternal grandfather's in Colorado and my paternal grandmother's in New Jersey, but that's about it.

Missouri is only the 21st largest state at 69,704 square miles. It has an irregular shape but is approximately 300 miles long X 240 miles wide.

Missouri is not larger than the UK, but it is larger than any of it's component countries. It is alo larger than:

Missouri is smaller than Kansas, where Lady C lives; New Mexico, where Lil lives; Arizona, where Irv lives; Utah, where Marv and GDZ live; Montana, where FG lives; California, of course which is huge and where MR, SC and Amy P live; Texas, naturally, where Gosho and Count Zero live. We are larger than OHIO, where the vice president lives.

Ohio is an undisclosed location?

The vice president would like for the town where he lives to be undisclosed, but Ohio itself is fairly easy to find. Irv, do you know the vice president? I'm not sure he was around when you, were back in the old days.

One place in North America I still have high on my list is British Columbia - and of course there's the Ozarks

Of course every discerning traveler has the Ozarks on the must see list.
