Titania (gone for lunch) Started conversation Jan 1, 2004
Spent the first few hours with RL while watching fireworks in every direction (but it got a bit cold after a while)
Then some time on h2g2
Then some sleep
And then 2 hours in front of the TV - that was not what I had planned, but there was this really interesting documentary about Akira Kurosawa - now, I ask you - what film-interested person *wouldn't* get fascinated by that?
Currently back on h2g2 accompanied by G&T
I hope that the new year will be a happy and prespourus one for all of you!

Happy New Year Ti.
We didn't celebrate much last night. And we don't have fireworks in out town on New Years Eve. I wish we did. At least a municipal display - not the kids acros the street shooting bottle rockets off to land on my roof.
So, the old folks watched them celebrate in New York then went to bed.
Today is absolutely beautiful so far. But the weather is expected to change this afternoon, bringing in some rain. It is warmer than normal, so I don't think we have to worry about snow or ice today though.
I'm going to make a thick, rich chowder and serve it in bread bowls for our New Year's dinner. My mom will probably be here. There will be football all day on tv. With luck, F will be sleepy after lunch and will take a nap instead of putting it on. (Not much of a football fan here.)
Have a wonderful day and a wonderful year.

Happy New year, all
This year our neighbours decided their kids were old enough to see their dad light some fireworks, so for the first time in a few years the explosions were quit near. Poor

.
All day now it is snowing, but the ground is still to warm to let it stay
The New Year concert from Vienna and the ski-jumping from Garmisch were as usual.

Wild student types that we are we watched BBC1 at midnight, live from Glasgow, and London (split screen) A few minutes later their was a selection of celebraties singing Alde Lange Signe in front of vairous scottish scenes.
Definatly in the "so bad it's good" catagorary of TV moments.

Godt nytår, indeed
The fireworks display here looked like something that tried to turn dark winter into permanent daylight Impressive!
We spent New Years Eve just up the road - which made it delightfully easy to get home
Now I have just been writing one of the not-yet-done Christmas/New Year greetings - - in French, no less
I'd thought I'd write up my own New Years Journal thingy - but I guess I am too
for that...
