h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It's been a few weeks since my last journal entry so I thought I'd write a journal entry as it's been so long since my last journal entry and what would be the point of doing stuff if you weren't going to write a journal entry entered in your journal about it?

Indeed.

Righty. In the last few weeks I've:

Been mugged once
Had a bag nicked
Become a proper regional rep for my union's LGB&T group
Been incredibly skint
Got absolutely hammered at Serephina's
Got absolutely hammered with 2legs at my flat
Got suprisingly hammered with Azathoth outside a pub in London
Watched an awful lot of A Bit Of Fry & Laurie, Yes Minister & Chelmsford 123
Planned and overseen an "ooh 'eck, we ballsed it up, you'd better sort it!" type project at work (normally a tad beyond my remit)
Collected, and since disposed of, enough empty cider/beer/whisky/rum & brandy bottles to create a national glass shortage. Fear not, you can breathe easy: they've been taken to the recycling wotsit so the price of glass should start coming down again.

So there you go.

It would appear that I also forgot the GuideML doesn't work in journal entries. I missed off a anyway.

So life has been normal then?

Well. except for the mugging bit, and hope that was not too brutal...

Can't think of anything worse.

It wasn't a heavy one - more of an enforced pick pocketing really. I'm getting used to it now!

You shouldn't do. It's a crime. Do other people just look away when it happens?

There wasn't anyone else around. Anyway, no damage done, just £20 lighter at a time of month when I could've dome without being £20 lighter! It was reported, I'm uninjured, they got their brown, at least it was me (with my fairly matter-of-fact view of such things) rather than a pensioner or some such.

I'm more narked about the bag being nicked: it had a Peter Cook book in it!

Love Peter Cook - which book? I might be able to get you another copy!

Mugged again? Good job I wasn't there Bastards The bottles are all gone? How many trips did that take?

Just the one trip but that was with Scouse-African John's van and we did call for reinforcements.

It was all pretty quick and non-violent.

Anyway, enough of such things! They're depressing if you think about 'em too much.

Now that I am one I've got to find out exactly what the hell a regional union LGB&T rep is supposed to do!

That seems to be it at the moment.

I can't blame the mugging on the smoking ban, but I *can* blame the bag being nicked on the smoking ban: if I hadn't had to nip outside the pub for a fag I would have been stood next to my bag.

I've come across a little footage of 10CC live in 1974. Rather good it is too.
