thankyou for ringing my doorbell. I just made it back to h2g2 about 20 minutes ago. I was intending to reincarnate as a tiny purple tortoise hallucination, by another name, in another language, deeper, and more intelligent, , but hey, what plans ever work out the way we had it planned. heheh.

I used to worry about reincarnation. Now I realise it is all to do with carnations, and how to become one. Actually, that is quite stupid, what I just said. . Now, I must work. I am planning on writing a very serious journal. . In my dreams. Hmm.

So sweet that you wrote to say you missed me.

What happened was that my Mum died in mid-January of this year, a year less six days since my Dad died. I was with her for a couple of weeks before, then the weeks after have been busy and then I have been exhausted, so I haven't been able to concentrate on much else.

Plus I have been trying to reinvent how I contribute to this lovely site, you know, trying to take the strain off my brain and not worrying so much that I can't write Guide Entries ...

...and its so great because its OK that I just wander around saying hullo to people, and every now and then writing a non-story about yellow zig zag patterns.

to me! a true friend on here has the same bearing as any true friend I have in "real life". That includes honesty,respect and sadness when missing. But unlike real life where chances are I know if someone is unwell etc. Here, when not in any other form of contact, my main thoughts on a friends absence is their health and hopes that that isn't the reason.

As for me, I've just got shut of a 4 week cough, taking 2 lots of antibiotics to clear it - nowt I couldn't cope with

Hey friend and yay! glad you kicked that cough eventually. My husband had that. It kept him awake at nights for weeks, and he was rasping and spluttering like a monster from the deep. heheh.

He didn't get as far as antibiotics, but I think sometimes they are the only way. He ended up on the Potters syrup, and said it was so tasty he was going to drink it even when he was better, which was worrying, except he kicked the habit, because it cost too much. .

I also tried various cough "medicines" they did nothing

but! to aid the antibioticsI had regular doses of whisky and vodka, as I know alcohol kills germs etc

heheh. that's what I like to do, except brandy's my medicine.

interesting recipe, whisky, antibiotics and vodka. . good for writing interesing poetry.

went to my Buffalo Lodge last night(held Friday's)not the hight of entertainment due to lack of numbers now, but better than nothing

Hah! Buffalo Lodge! (had to find out what that is). How interesting! And, as you say, good to have the company.

Its difficult to find belonging sometimes, I find. I like to sit alone, dreaming,with my notebook, but with people around me, which is difficult to find in the evenings. Although its good to have a laugh in company also, but I'm not happy in pubs really. Sometimes, but not always. Just the way I am.

Our swimming pool cafe is a relaxing place to be, and is open evenings. Not everyone's idea of a good night out, but I like it.

Depends on what one needs at different times of life, I think.

I live for humour and I found my role in life years ago - to bring smiles and dispel frownsfrom all I meet.
And at 64yrs next month, I've no intention of stopping on that role
