Hi,
As a very new subeditor, I have been given your A87801311 Protecting Monuments of the World.
Please subscribe to it, to ensure you see any conversations once it's Edited and published.
I'll have a go now, but I want to ask you at once - at the bottom of the entry is a "Header ?" where either the text of the header should be entered, or the header removed. Do you have a preference here? what would be a nice header? Would you like me to write one?

Hi Milla!
I wanted to put a header there but couldn't think of a suitible one. I still think there should be a header but have no ideas. If you can think of anything I'd be grateful.

I set the header to "Planning for the future" since it to some extent concerns the widening scope of monument protection and the work that's going on.
Added just a few links.
It's very neat already
See if you have more opinions, then I would like to hand it back to Editors.

I saw you wanted to make a sentence shorter:
'Every monument must be treated as a historical document. Restorations must respect the original substance of a monument and although it is allowed to 'close holes' where original parts are missing, to make the appearence of a piece of art whole again. The new additions always have to be distinguishable while at the same time harmonizing to the original.'
But through the comma which is now a fullstop, the 'although' doesn't make sense anymore. It should say 'although it is allowed to close holes... the new additions have to be distinguishable'
in the section about the World Heritage Convention:
'In return these states get assistance in prserving their heritage...'
missing letter
I wonder if in the 2nd to last paragraph of the Entry it should also be mentioned that things can also be destroyed by well meaning people who inexpertly try to preserve or restaurate something (as seen with this picture of Christ in this church in Spain).
Thanks a lot for subbing!

This is still not right.
Please change it to:
'Every monument must be treated as a historical document and restorations must respect the original substance of a monument. It is allowed to 'close holes' where original parts are missing, to make the appearence of a piece of art whole again, but the new additions always have to be distinguishable while at the same time harmonizing to the original.'

Will this work?:
Every monument must be treated as a historical document, and restorations must respect the original substance of a monument. Although it is allowed to 'close holes' where original parts are missing, to make the appearence of a piece of art whole again, the new additions always have to be distinguishable while at the same time harmonizing to the original
