Sho - employed again! Posted May 1, 2003
Ah, temporary , happens to me all the time.
But the boy still has me in his grip (I wish!)
Last night I went to see Peter Gabriel (as I have mentioned all over h2g2 today) which was . I used to
over him, but recently he has started to look like my mum's brother, which is scary so I stopped the
ing of him.
Mind you, he has one of those voices like Sean Bean: knicker elastic is not safe when Gabriel sings!
(anyone think we need a smiley?)

Genie Posted May 1, 2003

Mmmmmmmmmm thanks! A
party!
My type of party
I birthdays, I have such a fantastic family. And friends.
I have loads of flowers and some lovely
James sent me a bouquet, and I haven't seen him in 4 months!
Colin Firth -
Now then ladies.
I have a treat in store tomorrow.
Have you all seen "The Simpsons"? Madge's sisters, one of them s over "MacGuyver" which I heard, is Richard Dean Anderson in another life. {Our Jack O'Neill with long hair...}
Well, I've never seen the original MacGuyver.
And tomorrow at 1pm on BBC1 there's a film - "McGuyver and the lost treasure of Atlantis" - starring Richard Dean Anderson.
Hmmmmmmmmmm

You can call me TC Posted May 3, 2003
McGyver isn't a programme or even RDA - it's a way of life. A cult. A whole new dimension!
The guy's incredible and an absolute rip-off of spy films and such. You'd be amazed what he can make a bomb out of. A garden fence and a shoelace sort of thing. So improbable.
My son was making a bomb (OK OK it was a fake one for a kids' "detective" night - they had to learn to defuse the bomb - i.e. remove the right wire and the red light goes out) and he called one of the bits of wire a "McGyver wire" or something - it was so fitting - On some of the cheaper cable channels here they are still showing the old McGyver series. The hair - ! . The socks -

Sho - employed again! Posted May 4, 2003
I saw one episode of McGuyver - he made a bee proof suit out some duct tape and a paper bag or something - and it was sooooo awful it made me cringe.
If I had known or realised that he was in Stargate I'd most likely not have watched! (he has become much more with the grey hair. I wouldn't, as they say, kick him out for eating biscuits!
)
Has anyone else noticed his thumbs? They fascinate me.
Last night I saw a brief glimpse of Hugh Laurie on Parkinson (we were watching the The Bill spinoff MIT) - he's lovely, and I'd definitely love to go out with him on a date (and maybe more)
~drool~ thread
Coniraya Posted May 4, 2003
Hugh Laurie is so , he stole very scene he was in in Sense and Sensibility even if he wasn't saying anything, we don't see nearly enough of him on our screens.
I am glad you had a good time, GB . BTW I have done my 200 seti units
I loved McGuyver at the time, it was very much of its era and making a missile launcher out of a bike rocked! There have been a few references to McGuyvering in SG, by Sam.
~drool~ thread
Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted May 4, 2003
Thanks for all the good wishes!!I must have been walking round with my eyes and ears shut!
I better watch all Stargate through again and look out for RDA's thumbs {he *has* got lovely hands-that much I *have* noticed} and listen out for Sam's references to McGuyvering.
Do the actors do that themselves do you think? Or do the scriptwriters write it in?
Because in one "Dallas" episode, I remember Pam Ewing making a comment on "The Man from Atlantis" who was, of course, her screen hubby Patrick Duffy.
Nice work if you can get it.
Did anyone watch the 100 best TV commercials last night?
Ah, memories.
I didn't know the original lovely bloke in the Gold Blend ads was the watcher from Buffy!!!
Or that the writers of the commercial were influenced by the characters in "Moonlighting"
So, you lot haven't put me off watching this MacGuyver film that's on at 1pm, I've already told Andrew he can have my chair & my wide-screen tv, {I'll go watch his portable & lie on his bed} JUST so he'll let me watch it in peace......
Hey, I have some good news/bad news.
They're making a film about Starsky & Hutch.
Same format, same car, etc.
Bad news: Not the originl actors!
Apparently, David Soulis furious that he's not getting the part of Hutch.
I saw a pic of the actor playing Starsky on the bonnet of the striped car and he looks *just* like Paul Michael Glaser did, in the seventies.
Hey Sho, was it you who is going to visit The Deep? I have finished my entry on it and it's up at PR now.
USE the telephone booking system, then you can use the fast-track queue.
Here are the links honey
F48874?thread=272886&latest=1 {PR}
A1014977 the entry itself.
And, a little tells me that Leslie Grantham is in negotiations with the BBC for a comeback as Dirty Den?!? Is he going to play the relative that Sharon & Vicki have been searching for, I wonder? If he does, I might start watching Eastenders again....

Congrats on your 200 seti units Caerwynn!
I think we are all now crunching those which have produced interesting results. My latest unit is from 1999.
Latest gossip:
Jude Law and Colin Farrell have signed up to star in a film version of Brideshead Revisited.
Ioan Gruffudd is in talks about becoming the new James Bond.
I didn't know Pierce Brosnan wasn't doing any more?
ooh, it's nearly 1pm.....

Sho - employed again! Posted May 4, 2003
I saw that your The Deep entry was in PR, I'll take a look when I get a minute.
resisting the temptation to put the tv on to watch RDA from years ago.
The only bit of the 100 commercials was the end of the Smash one, which I love, and the bit about the Guinness one with the horses. I totally forgot it was on, and got conned into watching MIT instead.

According to the fansites, James Purefoy is (was?) also in the running for James Bond.

James Purefoy as James Bond? < thud>
A belated happy birthday to you GB! Is there any news on the respite care for your son?
I visited the gym with my daughter Mair today and saw a chap who strongly resembled Sean Bean. However, in turn I found myself being ogled by a dwarf-like chap who emitted grunting noises as he worked out
which amused Mair no end! Thankfully said dwarf-like chap didn't request that I toss him (as did Gimli to Aragorn in The Two Towers)!
John and I introduced Mair to Shakespeare In Love the other night and she seemed to be showing an abnormally high level of interest in Ben Affleck, or perhaps it was just me ing instead?

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted May 4, 2003
Thanks...if there was any news you'd be the first to know
I watched the MacGuyver film with mixed emotions.
How can a man age 10 years and be MORE attrctive?
Yet he was still *our* RDA
Didn't like his hair, it should have been neck-length not shoulder-length.
Never saw his socks......
Gwennie you should beware of *any* male who asks you to toss him

you're projecting on to your daughter, methinks!
My girls love Legolas! No chance, he's like 3000 years older than they are!
There was a Viggo Mortensen lookalike at the pool today, with his daughter, she fell over and he was so cute looking after her and making her better I nearly went over to talk to him... then I remembered I've been married forEVER (coming up to 18 years this month) and came to my senses!

So what's 18 years, give or take a few between swimming costumes? I'd have been in there like a

Next time try "encouraging" (or bribe) one of your girls to play with his daughter...
How is your planned boy related fiction coming along Sho?

if he's there next year I'll make sure I've shaved my pits and legs before slinking up. I'm a bit of an oddity there, the only apparently hairless (in those places) female... and with the new sylph-like huge-knockered figure I get a lot of attention
I've finished 2 parts of what is going to be a 4 parter, Gwennie. If you mail me (sorry, still haven't got all my e-mail addys sorted after getting the new hard drive) I'll send them for you
but nothing higher than a PG rating. It's all UST and unrequited love.
