Sure will. I gotta see Rene Zellweger and Queen Latifah. I don't respect the Oscars very much anymore though. Too many of my favorites have gotten snubbed. I thought Leo should have gotten a nomination for Catch Me If You Can; and I thought Two Towers did not get nearly enough nominations. But what can I say, I'm a movie junkie, I've gotta watch!

heh heh heh
it's on too late for me.
We'll see about the LOTR stuff, they're all saying (magazines and stuff) that it should get the nominations next year after the whole trilogy has been released.
Btw, there was a site somewhere (did we have a link here?) showing what the characters would have looked like if it had been LOTR goes hollywood... Leo made a cute Legolas, but not as good as the lovely Mr. Bloom.

no I think they've decided to tone it down, but last I heard it was still going on.
I've thought about this, and I have to say that, as an ex-member of the military... actually this sounds quite sickly I suppose, all sugary and twee, but the fact is that the war is being fought so that the people of Iraq have the same freedoms as we do. The freedom to party and have silly awards shows being one of them.
Daniel Day-Lewis summed it up he said that it would be obscene if they were all flouncing up the red carpet while people are dying, so I think it's just a toned down fest of self-love.
off to cover the with kisses...

Completely off topic, I've started number crunching for SETI, GB. At the moment using my PC, but once No2 son has set up an old one for me, I shll be letting it run for 12/15 hours a day.
Back on topic, I shed a tear or two over Taken as well and will miss Charlie and his beautiful eyes. I hope we see him in something else soon.

Well done that Caerwynn!
Are you going to join the http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/stats/team/team_31737.html
oh and do make yourself a profile, you might get on the front page as Cruncher of the Day!
Here's mine:

Did you watch "Pure Taken" afterwards on BBC3? They had some of the stars contributing, plus the writer, even Spielberg was on, just a bit of film but it was nice to see him! Taken has been nominated for 4 Saturn Awards.
I couldn't believe how different the actors looked.
Charlie and his eyes
Gotta keep an eye on Adam Kaufman
Apparently he was in 'Buffy' (Parker Abrams) and 'Dawson's Creek' (Ethan) so you probably all know him anyway
Thanks, Sho. I recall something about Martin Sheen being in danger of getting the boot as the President in West Wing because of his anti-w*r speeches.
And I thought this w*r was all about freedom of speech....

I don't think Martin Sheen was ever in danger of losing his place in the West Wing, there were just some idiots who felt that a tolerant, liberal Catholic had no right to portray POTOS. Probably the same people who felt that French Fries should be renamed Freedom Fries, because Americans shouldn't be eating anything named after a country of 'cowards'.
Also Freedom toast, and possibly Freedom bread, Freedom plaits, and of course Freedom kissing. As someone pointed out, fifty years of Cold War and they didn't get rid of Russian dressing.
A friend of mine thought it would show considerable style for the French Government to rename their country the Republic of Freedom.
But this is getting dangerously close to talking about W*r (Huh! Good God, yaw!) so I'll stop.
AGB: You don't know who Mike Moore is? Did you never see TV Nation?

Hey Gwennie!
I had to go up to Leeds for t'weekend: I had some time left at the end of the year, so I went to visit a buddy at uni: I'm going there next year so I was looking round too!
I've got a bit of a snotty nose: I reckon I got it from working at the local s.n. school: all the staff had it!
I think the postie [well the regular one anyways!] likes it: he'll often wait until she's come to the door and dangles it for her to grab! The weird thing is, is that when he has to deliver something that won't fit through the box, she'll go up straight for a fuss!
I've been to the Barrowdowns site before as well: but it's always cool! I used two different names: my first middle and last, and my first and last so I got...
In Middle-earth, was a Incognito Gaffer
Elven Name
The root name: Ainaparma
Another masculine version is:Ainaparmaion
More feminine versions are:Ainaparmaiel Ainaparmaien Ainaparmawen
Hobbit lad name Pippin Proudfoot from Brockenborings
Hobbit lass name Dora Proudfoot from Brockenborings
Dwarven Name Balin Musicmirth This name is for both genders.
Orkish Name Ghâshbog the Choker This name is for both genders.
In Middle-earth, was a Ring-wearing Snaga
Elven Name
The root name Dínath Another masculine version is: Dínathion
More feminine versions are: Dínathiel Dínathien Dínathwen
Hobbit lad name Bilbo Goldworthy from Scary
Hobbit lass name May Goldworthy from Scary
Dwarven Name Fáin Emeraldfoot This name is for both genders.
Orkish Name Púshbad the Odiferous This name is for both genders.
Pushbad the Odiferous: I like it
I just got my visa stuff for the US through: I'm gonna have to go down to London to present my application in person, and it's supposed to four hours long: !
~drool~ thread
Sho - employed again! Posted Mar 25, 2003
Is there a special reason for having to present it in person?
Don't forget to ask if they want a freedom
or maybe not

friendlywithteeth Posted Mar 25, 2003
because of 7.11, the US gov. have introduced the SEVIS scheme, which apparently is a new way to track those applying for a J-1 visa [student-exchange visa], which apparently means they ought to charge us more money, and needs us to go for a four hour interview.
Eep.
~drool~ thread
friendlywithteeth Posted Mar 25, 2003
OK...so I just reread it, the interview is just a formality and may be only minutes, but I can expect a four hour wait: even worse Eep!
I'm not a student till next year! Now I'm earning so
