Please don't forget to give us the full low-down on the meet when you've fully recovered GB...
Friendlywithteeth = Gnashers? I like it!
Perhaps if you fell asleep in bed instead of at the 'puter, you'd wake up minus cramp...Gnashers.
Sho I might have your address somewhere, that is unless it's your old one from a couple of years ago...
John is very sad about Barry Sheene's death and says that he used to watch him race. He was extremely drool-worthy and I used to enjoy the Brut adverts that Barry Sheene and Henry Cooper used to do back in the 1970's.
I'm really looking forward to Farscape and Enterprise tonight but knowing that it's the last ever episode of Farscape will most definitely put the mockers on my viewing enjoyment.
Not having a good day today. Woke up, full of energy and jumped in the car to go to the gym at 09.30, having got the kids off to school and dogs walked only to find the battery flat! Resigned to being marooned at home, decided to take out frustration on doing housework only to have my Dyson vacuum cleaner die on me! John says a bearing has gone so the motor, which has been on the way out for months (constantly overheating, sounding really sick and cutting out) sucked it's last dog hair this morning. So that will be £50 for a new motor in the vacuum cleaner plus most likely another £20 (plus) for the car, provided it's only the battery that is causing the no-go! What's worse is that I know why this has happened to me...I blew the £70 I had saved up last week on a 2nd hand larder fridge and matching upright freezer to replace the one that died on me last Christmas day.
*Wanders off to bang her head on something more substantial than her monitor so she doesn't break that too*
Roll on tonight, Farscape and Enterprise and the I'm going to enjoy whilst watching...

for Gwennie
isn't that always the way?
Very about Barry Sheene. He was one of two pin ups I had in my cubicle at school (the other was Jean Jaques Burnel of the Strangles)

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Mar 10, 2003
Are you sure it's the motor that's gone, honey?
It could be the filter that needs changing...I made that mistake with my Dyson.
I don't know how I'm going to react at the end of Farscape.
Thank goodness I still have you lot.
What to say about the meet-up:
I was met at the station by Abi & EV, then Leopardskinfynn turned up and we all went to the British Museum, where I all over the Egyptian exhibits and spent almost all my pennies in the gift shop...
Then we went to a pub where the others had something to eat {I had a pack-up on the train} then we went to the Wellington to be joined by coelacanth, Mina, Blues, **2legs, Rachie D, Lightman, KerrAvon and her friend Dave** {those marked ** disappeared early to go to a cheaper pub but we stayed in case anyone else turned up, and besides, coely didn't want to move and I wouldn't have wanted to leave her}
Then Mina's guests all went to the station my memory goes a bit fuzzy here but I remember some kisses and cuddles...
Next morning I had to leave as my train from Kings X was at midday, Mina, Blues and EV all came to see me off.
The train was switched at the last minute so my booked seat was non-existent and I sat opposite a nice man with his face buried in a book, then two women got on, one sat next to me and the other next to nice man, and they promptly lit up fags and smoked through the entire journey.
Just before Doncaster I decided I couldn't stand it any more so I asked her next to me if she'd move, so I could get out.
She moved and so did her pal, further down the train, so I stayed where I was.
Nice man smiles at me and says "I thought you were leaving?"
I said I was going to as I couldn't stand the fag smoke a moment longer and he agreed how awful it was.
We then chatted all the way to Doncaster.
He was an engineer, of sorts.
Wearing a wedding ring, more's the pity.
My train at Doncaster was delayed due to Leeds fans causing trouble at Sheffield {according to GreyDesk who is a Sheff Utd. fan} Doncaster station was crawling with nice young policemen when I arrived
Got a train to Scunthorpe {uneventful} one stop, then changed to a for the last leg back to Cleethorpes.
Sat next to a able young man {I didn't notice him at first} but he was very chatty he told me it was his birthday {30th!} and he was going to see his Mum in Grimsby.
I told him where I'd been for the weekend and all about h2g2.
He said he'll look me up when he goes home and when he got off at Grimsby he said it was nice to meet me
We passed the scene of a fatal accident at Barnetby Top, a pillion passenger on a motorbike, {a 32 y.o. woman} was killed and the driver of the car who hit them was arrested for drink-driving. At 3.15pm on a Sunday!
That's the 19th fatal road accident this year on Lincolnshire's roads.
Oh well, I ought to go wash up before preparing my then feet-up time and watch Farscape and Enterprise.
*leaves a message for Sho*
Hope you're feeling ok honey

I've just seen a brand new ad for Abbey Nat, the one where Tom Jones sings "Help Yourself" and it's the same couple, she's just doing dafter things.

tomorrow I'm off to "sunny" Hannover for a Trade show, so I'll be back here on Thursday to tell you all about my meeting with the guy with the lovely hands (I met him in Munich last time)
Hopefully there will be some other scrummy young things around the show (If I'm lucky they'll have pointy ears and blond hair)

Once I got over the shock, I can't actually think of a better way to die, than just being proposed to by Crichton, in his arms and being snogged by him.
Much better than having his baby, him bagging off, getting divorced, then bringing up the brat alone.

SPOILER CONTINUES:
BEWARE:
If the programme had been cut just after Chiana was explaining what was going on from watching films it would have been a lovely ending.

Oh and I forgot to ask if anyone else spotted the reference to David and Maddy in Saturday's episode of Taken? It raised a giggle here
~drool~ thread
Gwennie Posted Mar 11, 2003
Sorry Caerwynn, I don't watch Taken... I used to watch David & Maddy though (in Moonlighting?).
John took my Dyson apart and a bearing has gone in the motor, so when my Novocain injection from my recent trip to the dentist has worn off a bit, I'm off to Bishop Auckland to buy a new motor, which I've told will be about £40. The car's new battery cost me £34.99 yesterday... Mair came home from school last night with a form for a school trip to visit the Tate Modern in London and wants £34 plus spending money and a lift to Darlington for 7.30 in the morning...
At this rate, I'll be kissing my trip to London for my school reunion goodbye...
Thanks for telling us about your weekend GB! How come you got to meet such nice people on your journey? I had to sit next to a man with terrible BO the last time I went on a long train journey and think that cigarette smoke might have been better...

Glad ye like it Gwennie So do I!
It wasn't falling asleep in front of the puter: honest guv'! It was going swimming on weds. and then doing swimming at the school on fri. I reckon. My arms and thighs were killing!
I liked the Enterprise on monday, and am looking forward to Comic Relief on friday [though will have to record it all as will be at work...hmph.]
I've also got addicted to the Fame Academy thing, which I've never seen before, but Doon sooo should have not got voted off
~drool~ thread
Coniraya Posted Mar 13, 2003
I thought it a shame that Doon was voted off too
No able men at the gym, as my friend said, it was mainly overweight ladies. But after being shown how to use the machines, some exercises and having a plan worked out for me, I had a go on the treadmill and the cycle. I burnt off about 60 calories, feeling really , but completely knackered

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Mar 13, 2003
Don't watch Fame Acadamy
I sit next to nice people, there's no trick, I just keep my eyes open
Taken, why didn't I watch Taken.....hmmmm *scratches head*
Oh!

They referred to Dave and Maddie from Moonlighting?
Speilsberg must be a fan
I put the tag on my PS to try and catch any newbies from but all I've netted so far is old friends confessing
Sorry about your money problems Gwennie
My renovation work on the bungalow has ground to a halt now I've paid for the gates.

D'Argo's howling grief and John and Aeryn's happiness at dying together summed up love and death and grief for me in a nutshell, those who remain suffer while those who go, move on to a better place, their suffering over. I'll never forget Farscape

Hey folks! Survived the letch-fest that CeBIT turned out to be.
can you believe, however, that I'm such a saddo that I spent about half an hour standing in front of a (silent) screen showing The Fellowship of The Ring, just to get a glimpse of the tasty, able . And then, when he'd gone off the screen, I went to walk away and the very efficient looking woman next to me said "oh, he's so fab, I'll ask them to play that bit again" then we both looked guilty, and laughed something about going back to work!
I have to say, though, that DVDs look really great on the things that my company makes.

Has anyone seen Jude Law in Immortality? I'm thinking of renting it, and wondered if it was any good.

Sho - employed again! Posted Mar 14, 2003
Oh, Jude Law he's a new one on my list....
OK, I'm listening to Virgin Radio at the moment and they're playing The Lemonheads, I used to think that their singer (Evan Dando) was a fine thing... wonder what happened to him?
Red Nose Day today, and for the first time the Germans are doing it, but as far as I can see it's not really well known about and the only place I saw that you could get red noses (plain ones) was Burger King, which isn't really massive over here yet.

Thanks for the GB and it's nice to see you've returned to domestic bliss and hootoo safely Sho!
I stayed up late the other night to watch my LotR DVD alone (kids in bed and so was John, but with another dratted migraine), which was much more fun as I was able to freeze frames to over Aragorn & Boromir! I still when Boromir dies, no matter how many times I've seen it.
I'm glad you enjoyed your gym session Caerwynn! Sue, one of the employees at my gym and who not only has won but judges body building competitions too, took me through a superb leg work out yesterday, using the fantastic equipment they have there. It's the first time that I've been able to do a proper leg work out for a couple of years, due to my prolapse that I'm having surgery (hysterectomy) for later this year. I could hardly walk DOWN the stairs on the way out and had to hang on to the banister rail! I'm not too stiff today as I spent over half an hour doing Yoga after my workout but expect to be on my Zimmer frame tomorrow!
