Gordon's mother passed away about an hour ago. He's really upset even though it was a blessing, she lost the will to live years ago and had been confined to her bedroom, cursing waking up each day.
I am glad I was with him when we visited her 2 nights ago even though she was incoherent rambling, I stroked her hand and calmed her down a little. Gordon visited her just this afternoon and said she seemed calmer than before, and she was able to understand him and have a little chat.

hope he has good memories of her in a better situation. It´s really hard to remember your mother in her last days in such a way.
I still have to make an effort to think of mine in a positive light.

Thank you dear friends, it may take a while as Gordon had looked after her for 9 years...
...I am really upset, I broke down chatting to my mother on the phone, then my sister rang me and I cried again. I have to be strong for Gordon, he's doing some paperwork & visiting tomorrow morning, I'll have lunch ready for him.
I just went to give Goldie some water and there's a full moon, what incredible timing. I hope when I go I have a full moon to light my way

Thanks everyone, bit of a bity day, Gordon collected the death certificate from the hospital this morning then when he attempted to register the death they found an error on the death certificate so he had to take it back to the hospital for them to make a new one out.
He's now well fed and toodled off to an appt with the Undertaker.
Me, I have a date with the kitchen sink.

My thoughts are with you both GB. Humdrum kitchen type things are, I find, a good way of working out feelings.
Awful when they want to depart and cannot do so. My Dad was the same. Hope all goes well with the remaining arrangements, it's not an easy time and bureaucracy is no help!

The funeral is next Friday 20th, at 3pm, Gordon booked it as late as he possibly could, in the hopes I can get to it.
Me, I'm on Jury Duty.
