Countdown to Andalucia

Get a fan as soon as you can. It´s quite useful. You can find them since 3 €. An acceptable one, made out of fine wood , can cost about 20 €. Artistic ones cost a lot.
In Granada, (I guess you read A29056601 and A2797513) near the the Palacio de Carlos V, in la Alhambra, there are a lot of the usual souvenirs shops, in one of them , you can have a picture dressed like an arabian queen in a room decorated ad hoc. It´s very funny. I´ve got one in group, I appear playing a laúd, a musical instrument. Men took swords, other is laying in a divan...
Don´t know if you watched Mrs Obama on tv during her visit to Andalucía last July. In Granada she appeared eating an ice-cream. A clever recomendation, since that heladería, ice-cream shop, is great. It´s Los Italianos and it´s in la Gran Vía, one of the main streets and one surely you will pass in your afternoon walk around the city.
Granada is a lovely city and deserves many visits. I´m looking forward to know your experience.

the picture in the Granada entry is not recognised by any person I´ve shown it to. Probably it´s from the province not the town of Granada.

How exciting for you, Anne.
Mar, the picture description says:
A scene from inside one of the palaces of the spectacular Alhambra in Granada, Spain.
If you are sure that isn't true, you should email the eds.

I should have linked A29056601 to my comment to avoid confusion.
I´ll email them. Thanks Bel.

Here's the itinerary so far:
Sunday - day at Frigliana 3 faiths festival
Monday - Nerja & Nerja caves
Wednesday AM - Alhambra Palace, Granada

PS Gordon purchased a fan for me today, I tried many places and failed, he was luckier and I've added "a picture dressed like an Arabian queen" to my list of must-dos

I´d love to see that picture!
Weather forecast from Spain:
Authorities have declared an alarm situation for the wave of heat that starts tomorrow, they say that it will last until the weekend.
It´s because of the Sahara winds.
Not too bad news. The worst will have ended by the time you come.

Mineral tablets are useful. My husband once had a girl collapse on him on his annual school trip to Italy because of the heat, so now they insist on all pupils taking plenty to drink and supplementary minerals.

Busy day today, going to the last concert and last day feeding Laura's as she's back off holiday today. It's son Allan's birthday today (etheras won't see him) and will miss him tomorrow as they are calling here to see Andrew after I've left for the airport
