You know when you are addicted to h2g2 when:
You curse when the phone rings.
When you think about adopting a chimpanzee so you can train it to wash up, so you don't have to leave your pc for more than 5 mins. to make a cup of tea...
When you enquire about the cost of having a toilet installed right next to your pc....

Knowing the feeling
I didn't go on last night, and was surprised to realise that I'd got even *more* addicted to this place in the last couple of months...
Plus, the weight of the backlog is already horrific. How did I manage to go on holiday?

I find it hard... I've got a ton of work at the moment, as well as a rather busy mailing list to attend to... my allotted twenty minutes are nearly over...

Well... it ended up at 51 minutes 36 seconds, after all that.

I confess!
I have succumbed!
I am neglecting RL duties in some cases!
*this being 6pm, and I'm still at work, it's even made me spend more time at work than necessary...*
HELP ME!
*realises lack of logic in that, as must be logged onto h2g2 for anyone to "help" - revels in lack of logic, as doesn't really want to log off*

Problem is, I already spend a lot of time online, but I've been neglecting my duties of late
I just can't seem to find the time...
Oh well- this weekend I'm spending time rectifying this, and I've got a fortnight off school after next week

The 12-Step Program for WAS
(Web Addict Survivors)
Join now ... no dues!
1) I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my newspaper like I use to, before the Web.
2) I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with one hand typing.
3) I will get dressed before noon.
4) I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of the Web.
5) I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends and family that are Web-deprived.
6) I will call someone on the phone who I cannot contact via the Web.
7) I will read a book...if I still remember how.
8) I will listen to those around me and their needs and stop telling them to turn the TV down so I can hear the music on the Web.
9) I will not be tempted during TV commercials to check for email.
10) I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not.
11) I will remember that my bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance my checkbook because I was too busy on the Web.
12) Last, but not least, I will remember that I must go to bed some time ... and the Web will always be there tomorrow!

Tell me about it.
I just love the expression NAFFs on the addicts page (Non-addicted Family and Friends)
Here's to all you others out there.
I had managed, with some very deft mouse-handling, to read through all my current conversations in 30 mins. Provided I didn't write anything. But then I noticed that some of them were slipping onto the second page of the forum listings and were still current. So you go on to the "other conversations" and by the time you've caught up, some devil makes you click "reload", just to see if any of your brilliant contributions have been commented in the meantime.
I did mean to write some entries while I was here, but I forget once I get involved with you lot
*trots off to Flirters Corner or some other fun conversation*

PS I have even book-marked the Addicts page - which seems the epitome of counter-productiveness.!!!
