Question
Bebel Matman Owlatron's Thundercat Tshirt Dude Posted Jan 4, 2003
Sarge, I'd posted the word "dildos" (not "dildoes" as then plural apparently should be spelt) and was just thanking Uncle Heavy because he'd spelt it correctly and thus taught me something. Which I like. Dan Quayle famously corrected a student's spelling of "potato" to potatoe" on a US tour.
As far as sex technique guides go, I don't think there's that much they can teach beyond the physicalities of where all the helpful bits and bobs are. and once you know that, you know. Everyone's different-you'll never know really how to please someone fully until you're in bed with them.

Yea, maybe there should be an idiot's guide to spelling, just for Dan Quayle?
The student spelt it right, Sgt Mushy.
Quayle incorrectly changed it to "potatoe"
Hmmmmmmmmmm
I was taught at school to add an "e" if the word becomes plural, so "dildoes" would be correct, as is "potatoes".
As for loved-ones heads being painted on the dildoes, surely that's for kissing purposes?
I can't believe we're having this discussion.
Question
PQ Posted Jan 4, 2003
but what about dodos/dodoes, the second looks a little too much like doodoos for my liking.
Question
Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Jan 5, 2003
Collins English Dictionary says:
hero pl. heroes
potato pl. potatoes
tomto pl. tomatoes
dildo pl. dildos, dildoes.
Seems they don't know either.

Question
You can call me TC Posted Jan 5, 2003
Words of Spanish origin will not normally have the extra "e" before the "s" because for Spanish, the "o" sound does not change in the plural. To keep the "Oh" sound in the English, we have to add the "e" otherwise we will have written a word which would be pronounced e.g. tomatoss.
Please don't ask me if dildo is a Spanish word, though.

That's an old dictionary!
Are you sure you're looking up the correct spelling?
I've always wondered how, if you can't spell a word, you can look it up in a dictionary?
By the way, I'm no longer a Pantomime virgin!
I saw my first ever panto on Friday.
Oh yes I did!
