Things to do before I die
Wand'rin star Posted Sep 8, 2000
I have a rather powerful New Yorker cartoon on the desk in front of me of which the punchline reads "Somehow it never occurred to me that if I lived to be ninety-six I'd be ninety-six for all eternity"

Personally, I can't think of anything better than spending your life with, and growing old and wrinkly alongside, someone you love more than anything in the whole world. Life like that may well not be perfect, but every experience would be a shared one.

It (my painting effort) wasn't a bad start - but not good enough for my walls, let alone the hallowed halls of the National Gallery .
As for the other bits, I haven't even made a start...how's everyone else getting along?

Well I certainly motivated you, didn't I, Spearcarrier? Delighted to hear it, and don't be so critical! I bet your painting is wonderful...
I can't progress with my list yet, as I have just got my grandson back to mind, daily, until Easter when he starts full-time school. After that, I'll be a free woman {during school hours}... so I'll start working on my list then! Let us know how you get on, I am wondering whether to apply for a museship now, seeing as I inspired the artist in you.....
*hugs*

I seem to have got some canary yellow ink on my white t-shirt. Oh well, that's what automatic washing machines are for .

I've done a painting which made a stranger pause - I painted "STOP" on the footpath outside my house.

Grow old (never mind worrying about finding someone to do that with, it'd be a bonus )
Go into space/another planet - or at least the nearest equivalent, seeing beneath the waves (for another planet and that feeling of weightlessness), take part in a parabolic flight (for true weightlessness), visit antarctica and at least one of the big deserts.
Get to the top of a big mountain.

Re seeing Australia...I think its a bit overrated. Yes there are several spectacular, if not unique, things to see there but there are hundreds of thousands of square miles of pretty much nothing in between .
Painting update
Is mise Duncan Posted Oct 16, 2000
I was doing a painting of Howth head from Sandymount strand (see "Ulysees" for a literary reference) and a young girl (approx. 10?) stood and stared at me/it for a good ten minutes...so things are looking up.
