Someone else's dinner party

There are snow leopards. I assume that means they live in a snowy area. I know bobcats live in cold climates. I'm not sure how cold is too cold.

Such beautiful animals. I didn't realize they were so rare. The zoo in San Antonio had a breeding program for them when I lived there. I don't know if they still have or not.

I haven't managed to see them yet - but I live in hope.
My Estonian colleague is intrigued that I know so much about Tallinn zoo!

oh oh oh!
it's Saturday, 20th December and it's 15:13 (in German-land) and I can see 3 leopards jumping around. Totally brilliant - but my oh my, how dark it is (and snowing)

It's as dark as it gets. Snow makes it look a bit lighter though.
If anyone has been following the boar-cam, now it seems to have a new regular. A roe has been seen for couple times. Even right now (2.20am GMT+2) it's there, trying to find grain to eat from under the snow.

about a hundred years ago carl hagenbeck discovered that even animals from the warmest countries were able to live outside all year long in his zoo in hamburg. some grew thicker fur during winter. i read about it when i was a kid. i guess the african animals had to arrive in hamburg in high summer to be able to adapt, though

A horse is a horse, even if it's a river-horse.
Today's news from the boar forest: 2 wild boars and 2 raccoon dogs shared the feeding place for at least an hour.
