I was supposed to w*rk today but it didn't quite happen. I could take most of the day off, so I did.
It's raining here. There's been rather a lot of rain lately, which is good for the reservoirs. And it's cooler than is usual for October, which is also good. Nice weather for doing not-very-much, which is exactly what I want to do.

I have a deadline-day, so I really should pull myself together.
And I noticed that I didn't give you the link to church records: http://www.ra.ee/dgs/explorer.php
And now I got a message from the office, saying that we'll have 4 extra pages this week and I should dream up some more clever ideas.

Thanks for the link.
Good luck with the deadline, and the extra pages, and with finding ideas for those pages... That's always the hard part for me, facing a blank page.

I do it every week, so I should be used to it. Actually I feel very blank myself. I'd like to retire and go to the nursing home.

Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 13, 2010
Not the nursing home; the food's never very nice and the music's awful.

Nice little cottage in the countryside then. With food delivery and free internet access.

Yes, that would be better. There should also be a wine cellar and a library.

No, none of them. They are thoroughly unnecessary. They just make noise, plant ugly shrubs and park their cars just where I want to walk.
In other news, there's a flood warning here. Hardly any rain for almost ten years, now we're getting rain again and we're at risk of a flood. This is absurd.

And they smile and greet. I don't want to talk to people.
How is it with floods and all?
Here it only rains or snows a little. Sometimes. It's cold. I want to hibernate.

In the event there weren't any floods in Canberra but there were floods in towns 50-100km from here. (Just next door, by our standards.)
The good news is that, because of all this rain and ou dams filling up, after eight years the restrictions on water use in Canberra are to be lifted. I'll be able to water my garden whenever I want. I'll even be legally able to wash the windows...

I don't think I'd be happy about washing windows. But that's me.
And it's only an advantage that someone else got their doorsteps wet for that, not you.

I like washing windows if it means I can see through them afterwards. Sometimes it's nice to know what's going on out there.

Hati Posted Oct 21, 2010
I have pretty much the opposite meaning right now. I don't want to know of anything what's out there. It's dark, wet and dangerous.
Or maybe it's because I washed my windows only couple weeks ago.
It's the season of sitting in the corner and sulking here.

Here we're moving into the season of sitting outside in the sunny, flowery garden and sulking. (While complaining about hayfever and sunburn, of course.)

Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 21, 2010
Yes, it won't be long before that happens. Oh well. With clean windows I'll be able to see the garden in greater comfort.

Yes, there will be three or four weeks where the weather is neither too hot nor too cold, the flowers are in bloom and the windows are clean.
