More than you want to know about me...
As you might guess from my name, I'm a slightly mad sort living in the wilds of Canada. My tolerance with most of humanity is at an all time low just now but the type of people that read the Guide appeal to me nearly enough to come down off my mountaintop and act civilized. I'm glad to have found you all!
I'm a mostly retired, slightly cantankerous food and travel author who spent his first thirty-nine years exploring our little globe extensively before excusing myself from the bulk of modern social processes in the last year or two. I'm a bit of a walking dichotomy but I've not crossed over into full-blown schizophrenia just yet. Examples include an aversion to collecting upon Starbucks couches yet the ability to make a mean cup of tea as well as a reluctance to attend events where I could possibly be crushed by humanity but a propensity to invite herds of several hundred people to my backyard for the occasional barbeque. I'm all about the short list of quality people in my life and would welcome any candidates who care to join in the fun.
I'm sure I'll have plenty more to say as I settle into the site but if you feel the urge to poke the bear, as it were, feel free to pick up an electronic stick and give me a prod. Women with extra patience, long red hair, and funny accents please move to the front of the queue.
Cheers!
- CH
Geographical note: If you're curious about which bit of Canada I call home it's currently British Columbia, north of Whistler in the middle of several hundred kilometers of rugged forest (thank Zarquon for satellites) but I'm in the process of moving house, most probably to the other side of the continent. I have my eye on a little beach place in Cape Breton but I'm open to suggestion. So suggest already!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
