You have apparently left H2G2, and I am so sorry that it happened.
The new signin system has thrown a lot of people for a loop, and the people who were doing the most to help them sort it out were under the greatest strain. I call it "opening night jitters." If you've ever been in a play or concert, chances are you've experienced it. Ordinarily patient people snap. It's not pretty, but it's life, and eventually the dust settles and the world goes on.

Anyway, I don't know if you will ever come back, but I am an incorrigible optimist. If you do return, even if only to read your messages, I want you to know that I loved reading your reminiscences about your days as a swimmer, and the encounter/nonencounter with the leopard, and many other parts of your long and fascinating life.
You are awesome, and I am sending you a Valentine's Day smiley - smooch.

Be well! I hope keith and your carers and drivers are well, too.

Love, Paul

Very dear Paul and Pierce,

thank you so very much. I have loved this site, I have made so many wonderful friends, so am loathe to leave it. however, I do get upset which I suppose is due to my great age.

However, I shall be back occasionally, like today, when I was lying awake in my reclining chair, and thought.
!O want to talk to my friends - I have so many wonderful friends - and came and switched on and there were your two notes.

A thousand thanks for the many happy chats and discussions we have had.

The leopard was real - thank goodness so was the radio by my side. !!
I have absolutely no imagination when it comes to writing. I can only write about RL.......

With affection

Christiane

Today is really my lucky day.

Valentines from my two favourite men friends - three visits from reps from the NHS, and so much help being offeredm abd support given.

This all comes from that short spell I had in hospital last month. I really believe that I was on the way out, but I have survived. !! obviously.

Now I have got so many extra people taking an interest in ,e, and more particularly reminiding me to do things. I said I did not want to leave my flat - and although last week was a bit sad with absolutely not one single soul phoning up or contacting me on the two days wnen everything was shut down where I live due to the inclement weather and the snow I fortunately I had enough bread, milk etc. I mustsay that I am glad that I have got my special little heart monitor which I am, now wearing all the time, and I can p[ress it and a line goes through directly to the firm servicint it, and I am phoned up and they can hear me from whereever I am.

I shall be pleased when Keith comes back hopefully at the end of the week. I shall be able to rest far more comfrotably knowing that I am not alone in the flat.

Anyway, two lovely French cousins phoned me up this afternoon - sp iot really has been a special day.
smiley - wah I want to be around for the Olympic Games in 2012 - Are any of you watching the games in Canada?

With my affectionate love to you all

You have a reason (or several reasons) for living, Christiane. And, you have friends and family who care about you. I'm glad that you wear your heart monitor now.

I don't envy you your memory problems, but I'm glad you have those great sheep-counting exercises.

Today is my father's birthday. He turns 90 today. I brought him a cherry pie last night, and he and my mother and I feasted on chicken and sweet potato and pie. It was a lovely evening. My mother has bronchitis, but is quite lucid and able to get around with her walker. My parents are very dependent on each other, but this is working well for them so far. Today, my brother and sister-in-law are bringing dinner and a birthday cake to my parents. My sister was out there on Saturday. So, the whole family is in contact regularly.
We're lucky to live close enough that we can drive out to see each other.

I hope your Valentine's Day was nice, Christiane.

Hi Paulh,

Once again, mille fois merci. You cannot imagine what pleasure it brings me when one's name is actally mentioned in reply to one's posting. You are fortunate that all your family live fairly close to one another. Your parents must be thrilled with the constant pleasure of seeing their children. cherry pie - did you make it and was it from fresh cherries?

Go well,

Christiane

Sorry, I didn't make the pie. I bought it in the supermarket. I love cherries, and eat several of them every day. I probably could have made a *better* pie than the one the market baked. smiley - erm

Cherries are good for you. Ever since I was told they are a cure for gout I have eaten cherries (mostly dried since this is not the season for fresh cherries in Denmark smiley - brr) and drunk cherry juice

I also found some preserved Italian cherries which are absolutely divine. Very aromatic! They go down very well with vanilla ice cream smiley - ok

Fresh cherries are very easily found here. I manage to chomp at least 500 grammes a day which I love. Plus at least a few of what we used to call "naartjies" in south africa but which have a very elegant name of satsumas here.

I eat lots of fresh fruit and of course a French salad every day

Go well

Thank you dear smiley - piratenumer uno and Paulh wuth night vision.(!)

I wonder what you had for lunch.

I have not had a squqre meal since K. left. I have loads of veggies. Today took out something from the deep freeze whihc I thought was liver.

It gurned out to be goose liver with the goose neck.!!!

very strange it was, so I put it into a concotion that I was making on the stove with onions, portobello mushrooms and sort of grilled tomatoes in between. That was my lunch, plus some marvellous butternut squash which I love.!!
Oh and icecream for pud.

It is going to be so nice having K. back. and also to go on holiday.

hoorah!!

I finally got around to roasting that saddle of wild boar I had in my freezer. It was very good with mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and gravy smiley - drool
