Methinks, Oscar Peterson's version was the original, I'm not so sure, though.
Sentimental mood
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Sep 18, 2000
as far as I know is the original by Bob Dylan but if you're in a sentimental mood, what about 'It's all over now, Baby Blue' (Them version)
if you just listen to the lyrics you expect to be shattered completely but if you listen to the music you know it's worth living, no matter what happened
Quite normal again

Okay, this song I like very much, the music better then lyrics for me, though.
Song for today: 'Mama' by Phil Collins
Hey Ringo, you had the same idea, I also posted a birthday song for DD, but on his space.
BTW: who is singing this birthday-song? Or is this one of yours?
Quite normal again
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Sep 19, 2000

Belated happy birthday DD
My songs for the last six days... eh...
Today is Björk-day! I'm listening to the Yoga-album but there's no titles on my tape, I can't remember them and I'm too lazy to find them elsewhere...
Fixing a hole
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Sep 20, 2000
fixing a hole where the rain gets in to stop my mind from wondering, where it will go...
no, my personal song for today is not a Beatles' song, it's
'Rattlesnakes' (Lloyd Cole & the commotions)
"Ooh, it's so hard to love
when love was your great disappointment"
don't worry, not every song for today is autobiographical
shes leaveing home

Ottox Posted Sep 21, 2000
Say mea culpa if you like, and then tell me what it means
My song for today isn't a song - Goldberg Variations by Bach
And Kasia - it's more than *one* night
Oh these nights....

Well, Ottox, 'mea culpa' means simply 'my fault' ( it's almost all I remember from my Latin )
DD, your folks are really good in Sydney! But I'm happy, the Poles got this 5 medals, I hope we can get another one in about 1 hour (23 p.m.) our time - there are some chances in double rowing.
My song of the day: 'American Pie' by Madonna
BTW: I agree with you guys about 'those nights'
I Just Don't Understand
Ottox Posted Sep 23, 2000
I really would like to learn some Latin!
5 medals is OK, isn't it. You're doing better than us danes...
But the radio DID play Nights in White Satin last night, so that could be my gold
My song for the day that ends in 5 minutes. Simon & Garfunkel: The Boxer.

Of course, I'm trilled about those medals, Ottox!
BTW: didn't know you are Danish - where do you live?
Are you sure it's more then one night? (I mean the Moody Blues song of course. *grin*

Ottox Posted Sep 23, 2000
I was sure, but not totally. So before posting I visited several sites with the text Nights it is! (And btw: Ringo is right about Dylan and that song i now have forgotten... eh, was it Knocking on heavens door? I guess it was...)
For the last three years I have been living in the festival town - Roskilde
