Sorry guys, that was me getting moderated for quoting the lyrics to Big Countrys' "The Storm".
I suppose this is going to totally ruin the song of the day thread isn't it.

Hello everyone,
My song for the day is going to be a little obscure for most. I borrowed a CD from a particularly good friend this week - or rather she gave it to me for a listen. The band are called "Ten" and the track is called "Don't Cry". No I'd never heard of them either, but I would recommend a listen if you ever find a copy - it's great.

another great track is Elvis' Costello's "Jack of all parades" from the 'king of america' album.
Listen to it if you can

Well today folks, "Hit Me With Your Rythem Stick" by Ian Dury and the Blockheads is my choon 4 the day.
It's been published in Guitarist magazine this month, for all those inspired enough to have a go at. I left the Basses at work as well!!
I will give it a go next week. There are three versions on the cover CD of the mag. The whole thing - without vocals. Then the same without Guitar, the next with Guitar but without Bass. The idea is you learn the piece on your instrument and jam along with the appropriate track. The Bassline is just so busy but fluid - have a real listen next time you hear it.

Ottox, this one's is especially for you:
the german version of the Beatles 'get back' --> "geh' raus"
please don't take it literally. To be honest, i understand far less of the german lyrics than the english phrases

As long as you don't start singing Yellow Submarine in Finnish! My father have done that a few times (even though he doesn't speak Finnish...). Thinking about it - don't sing it in Danish either!
* wondering if he should say anything about the English version... *

No, and I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not!!
Did I tell you that I heard a good ol' country version of Ace Of Spades (Motorhead) on radio 1 once - very strange....

... or Lemmie singin' Lee Marvin's 'wandrin' star', hehe
the time without h2g2 forced me to dig in my CD-Collection and I digged out jewels like 'senses working overtime' by XTC or 'head over heels' from 'Tears for Fears'.
it was good being a teenager in the eighties
