Greetings, Blondie. I'm not an ACE or even a sub-editor but just wanted to say welcome on behalf of the rest of the idiots.
BTW Why Blondie? You're not Debbie Harry are you? Or are you?!?!
Helloooo?
Blondie Posted Apr 22, 2000
Jeez Marv, how many ACE's are THERE?!?!?!
Hell, how many members are there?
And are most of you in Europe?
Dr. John, Nope, sorry to disappoint, but I am not old enough to be Debbie Harry, though I am old enough to know who she is. I was very into Blondie when I was in high school, as was everybody else.
I used the name Blondie because I AM blonde, a real blonde (unlike Ms. Harry) and somehow I am notorious for being blonde. I get bombarded with blonde jokes thanks to e-mail, and I even forward some of them on unedited. When I do edit them, I substitute brunettes, or someone from Arkansas, or whatever else fits.
Okay, your turn. Why Dr. John?

Doctor John (Patron Saint and Village Physician) Posted Apr 22, 2000
Mainly 'cos John is my name IRL and I have a D Phil. Apart from that before I graduated I was infamous for prescribing strange chemicals to my friends and aquaintances. I'm nearly staight now tho'.

Blondie Posted Apr 24, 2000
Utah? Hell, I think you are only the 2nd person that I have ever "met" from Utah. The other guy was an ex boss who was a Mormon. That's about all I know about Utah ... the Mormon faith is dominant and occassionally I see reports on Dateline NBC about polygamy being very popular there. All kidding aside, I have seen pictures of Utah and some of the scenery is beautiful. I have never been there, though, just seen the pictures.
Now, what are you Archbishop of? What is CotTB?
Helloooo?
Doctor John (Patron Saint and Village Physician) Posted Apr 24, 2000
Sorry for late reply. I've got two nieces staying with me for Easter.
You're right, I'm English. I live in London (right in the centre).
In answer to your question to Marv - The Church of the True Brownie. All Hail, True Brownie!! All Hail, Marv the Grate who has taught us to worship the one and only True Brownie. We are not worthy, we are not worthy.
As you may have guessed, we are not mad just slightly eccentric. I'll let Marv fill you in on the details of the CoTB and the ongoing quest for the True Brownie.
BTW Marv, we need a badge (similar to Greebo's) that we can put on our home pages.

I am archbishop of the Church of the True Brownie... If you would like to know more, just click on my name, and look for the link to the church page As for your earlier querstion about how many researchers, we are nearing 40,000 last time I asked. There are also 60 ACE's. As you have seen we go around and greet new researchers, answer questions and the like. Anything else,? Just ask! Marv

The Colorado WHO?!?!? GO STARS!!!!!
Actually, I am a New York Islanders fan, and I even have an NY Islander license plate frame on my car - on BOTH ends!
But I have been living down here longer than The Stars have, so I am a fan of theirs too.
Ooooh, we are gonna have fun in the playoffs, ain't we Marv?!?!?!
Teee Heee.
To be honest, I hope San Jose knocks off The Blues so that Dallas can avoid playing The Avs. I'd rather face The Sharks next. At least that's how I THINK it's gonna work .... if The Blues beat The Sharks, then Dallas plays Colorado. If The Sharks beat The Blues, then Dallas plays San Jose. Or did I read the paper upside down again?!?!

So do you two guys know each other? I mean, one of you is in London, and the other is in Utah wasting his time cheering on WRONG pro hockey team! Really, do you guys know each other only online?
Damnit, I am gonna HAVE to actually read a book this weekend.
I can't take anymore .... you have driven me over the edge!
Aaaaaargh!

I dunno, I have not had the time to look As for freindly rivalries.... I love those As I type this I am looking at my Joe Sakic autographed puck and card. I have Patrick Roy at work on my desk. As for the Islanders, I wish they would rebuild their team a bit. It would be nice to see the lder teams in better contention.
Helloooo?
Blondie Posted Apr 25, 2000
A Joe Sakic puck? Not bad. Patrick Roy in on your desk at work? Sounds painful ... and KINKY!
The Stars have been hard to get close for the 2nd season in a row. I got ALL of their autographs a few years ago when they were "girlie man losers". I WISH I had Mike Modano or Bret Hull on my desk at work!
Just between you and me an the multitudes of friendly (and nosy) guys that hang around this place, I hope that Dallas doesn't meet up with Colorado in the playoffs.
Do you go to any of the games? You live in Utah, right?
Helloooo?
marvthegrate LtG KEA Posted Apr 25, 2000
Denver is a little too far to go to just to see a game. I plan on taking some vacation there next winter to see a game. I just have to follow all the games online and through ESPN.

My signed pucks, I got from a sports card dealer that I am friends with. As for the game tonight, I will prob be at work for most of it.
