Come to think of it...
I'm really not all that interesting. I work for an international high-tech corporation, in their datacom/access division. I find software bugs. They pay me to break things, really, which is an ideal job for someone who could never keep her toys in good order as a child and spends hours chipping away at the dishes when they finally overtake the kitchen completely. ("Soaking" them really doesn't work after a certain point.) I spend part of the work day surrounded by documents with fascinating titles like "PPP in HDLC-like Framing." The rest of the day is spent in a network laboratory - a jungle of hanging, tangled cables, blinking switches and purring routers. I speak in TLAs (Three-Letter Acronyms - no, I am not making that up,) a great deal. I have a white-board covered with incomprehensible squiggles, boxes and notations. I have a seven year old daughter who is some kind of genius, though we try hard not to make too much of that, and a husband who writes the kind of code that I try to break. He is much more brilliant than I could ever aspire to be, (his incomprehensible squiggles are far more complex than mine.) We have a beautiful, serene, uninteresting life on the West Coast of the U.S. and we spend most of our time being very happy and reading.
