Cardiff City AFC
Cardiff City...or The Bluebirds as they are also known. A football team that must hold a world record for the number of times the phrase "Sleeping Giants" has been used when refering to them.
We are a team currently in the second division of the Nationwide Football League. I hope that we shall be there come next season. I say hope because we are a team renowned for having a blinding season followed by a few dire years where nothing goes right for us...This is one of those years.
Not long ago, we were promised riches beyond our wildest imaginations. "Sleeping Giants" were again mentioned in all local forms of media. We had hope...we had a light at the end of a very, VERY long and dark tunnel...then we hit a nasty case of reality speeding along it in the opposite direction!
I think that the only thing that can stabilise Cardiffs fortunes is a division 2 1/2 being created.
This message goes out to all supporters of lower league football teams. You are not alone in your woe.
