AAARRRGGHGHHHH!!!!! REUNITED!!!!

did I start this?... wow... well, surely condensing peanut butter is taking it from its semi liquid, viscous state and making it even thicker/more solid... rather than melting it and watching its vapour condense..
a car? Thats good . My family always ask me if I'm going to start learning and when, but I really can't be bothered! I'm more worried about the rest of my life, it just seems like extra hassle and spending money I don't have... but thats just me don't let my apathy sour your achievement, well done IE.

No, condensing is the change of a gas to a liquid. The changing of liquid to a solid is freezing. I think. So to get peanut butter to condense it would have to be a gas.
It's not just my family that are going to hassle me about learning to drive when I turn 17, most of my friends will as well... something about shopping and buses...
Yes, well done IE!!

Yes, it would have to be a gas, therefore it would be easier to get smooth (more liquid) peanut butter into gas than it would crunchy. QED?
Who knows the boiling point of peanut butter?
Had my first driving lesson yesterday! Didn't crash! Only stalled once (quite an achievement me thinks!) when I was stopping! And the best bit: drove 53 mph down the dual carriageway!!! Wow! I drove!!!

But isn't crunchy peanut butter just smooth with crunch? So it would behave the same way when boiling it except that the crunch would be left behind.
Humm... nope, sorry. Have to find that out!
Hey cool!! Well done!!!!!
Yay!!!

Yes, the smooth part of the peanut butter would, but if you wanted to boil off the crunch as well, otherwise you'd only be doing half the job, it's have a higher boiling point.
I wonder where we could find it?
Thank you!
Yep!

I answered this on the peanut butter page... so not to spam http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A189308 I'll just write the page instead.
I'm going to look around the rest of the internet too. We can't be the first people ever to want to know...

Hundreds and hundreds of recipes I found on the net say to heat peanut butter "just to boiling point" so perhaps we're not the only ones. Some cook somewhere must have wondered sometimes "So while I'm making this American Peanut butter soufle, what temperature is the boiling point I'm supposed to heat it to?"
Someone, somewhere... must have...
I know, you beat me!!!

None as of yet. Going to try a few more under the cover of doing a food technology project, which in all honesty isn't far from the truth.

That's the peanut butter producers who are impolite, not you!

Well yes... but then you could be looking for an incredibly important part of a recipe and they're not helping you! That is very impolite.
Nasty people... *frown*
