Here in the states, we only know Jeffrey Archer as a novelist. If we're not into his books, we just ignore him. Is he on TV in the U.K. a lot? smiley - huh

No, he's just an irritating bumhole who looks like the bad guy in Tomorrow Never Dies. The story goes that Archer 'paid money for something', succesfully sued the newspaper which claimed that he had, but was later exposed as having asked a friend to provide a false alibi. He was then charged for four counts of perverting the course of justice, two counts of perjury and one of dishonesty. He was then jailed for four years.

Here in the U.S., we have Ethan Hawke who writes thrillers and also acts in movies. It's kind of cool to have someone so versatile. I don't think Hawke is a politician, though.

It's probably what he does best. He should have stayed with it. L-.

Well if he can't invent a good enough story for an alibi, I think his creditability as a good novelist is questionable.

You may have a point. smiley - biggrin

It may be that those years of politics corrupted his mind,
rendering it sterile. smiley - erm

I think his ego is probabily the biggest and only factor.

There was a spoof film a few years ago now about Jeffery Archer saving the world with the help of his side-kick Mageret Thatcher, in it he had a love affair with Princess Diana and then confronted the Duke of Edinborogh on the Buckingham Palace. He also used to be visited by Tomy Blair who used to confide in him in secret, normally dressed as a women.

I have no clue as to what is going on, except for Al Gore being nominated for the Nobel peace prize because of his work on behalf of raising public awareness about Global Warning. (In that case, should George W. Bush get the Nobel War prize?smiley - huh)
