A bit of March winds are beginning to blow today....Rain came in last nite.....But to me this weather is easy to work around...Just spring showers........Yesterday the rain held off while my son,Del & I drove 50 miles west to visit my daughter....She lives 25 miles inland from Seaside, in the Coast range on the Nehalem River....Very pretty...Little house....
** I will keep you posted on the weather......... ... ..

Dear Amy,.Do you know where you will want to look for me at the airport....As soon as posible when you deplane, or at the baggage pickup....And I need to find out how close I can leave my car.....I am going to go over to the airport Friday and see if I can get some advice about how this can work out....In the old days life was so much simpler....The good 'ol days.....!!..I will report back tomarrow what I find out.....
****.Hope your Grandmother will be on the mend...Some people are very resilient,& can surprise us...But I think Doctors only do heart surgery on the very strong... ... .. .. ..

Parking info: http://www.portlandairportpdx.com/parking.aspx
Oo, better yet--a map of the airport! http://www.portlandairportpdx.com/gates.aspx
Skimming through the site, it looks like non-passengers can't go beyond the security checkpoint (except for special circumstances which don't apply here) 'Twould be nice if you could meet us in the shopping/dinig area, though Looking at the map, Alaska Airlines uses both gates B and C, while Horizon uses gate A. Since my flight up is operated by Horizon (according to my itinerary) I could arrive at any of those terminals... But since they're all on the same side of the airport, that's ok...

Every time I've met someone at Portland Airport, I either hung around bag claim and saw them come down the escalators, or I just sat out in the car at curbside pickup just outside of bag claim. That's just sort of how it's set up for meeting arriving passengers.

Yes, I think GT has the situation well in hand.. & under control....As I remember there is lots of room there so You can spot someone with out being among too many "extra" people...I'll wave a H2G2 sign & a 8 by 12 poster of the Hitchhiker movie...
******** My son is out right now washing the car....AND vacuuming it, yet...don't know how long its been since that has been done...Probably since 3 summers ago when I spent a few weeks at the beach and filled the car with rocks I driftwood....
****** I am making a run to the airport now, to see how one drives into the parking structure...
I forgot already where GT said where to park...I got a mental block suddenly at the time...But he will touch bass [a play on words there?]....Saturday morn to see if I am still confused about anything....
******** He has been just great....Fun to plan this with.....
*** I am going to look into your airport links now... Amy,.You are very efficient and this new computer age is so great.........
**** Also, MT. St Helens looks like it is steaming today...You will probable get a good view of it tomorrow......... .. .

** It took me 10 minutes to get to airport..did not try to park...just a drive by...and saw that your baggage pickup and exit...is on south end ...so that is where I will aim my car for.......
**** Tomorrow be sure to give Faith a lot of eye contact and smiles....Eye contact is very calming and reassuring to them....
*** Be seing you tomorrow....by for now......... ... .. .

*will watch for deep rosy wine clothing*
I'll be wearing a white t-shirt with a green-and-blue h2g2 logo, and either teal or green sweatpants, and Faith will be wearing light blue denim overalls and a lavender top and probably a red harness with Elmo on it.

All went well...We all found each other at airport...with no difficulty..Thanks to the steady, calm guidance of GT......We were all refreshed with drinks & pizza and a walk in the park and on to Wilf's for more refreshments and then bus departure time...Then GT & I went back to Wilf's for more of the same & stayed for the evenings musicial offering..... ... .. &.. ... .. .

One week later...Dear Amy::.."No matter where we roam, there is no place like home"....
I am so happy to have met you & Faith....We wondered several times if she fell asleep soon after settling down on the plane & had not gotten too tired to fall asleep...That happens some times....I must get over to my journal & write up a detailed account of the day....It will be interesting to read each ones" idea of the day"....because we each see thing through different eyes.....By for now.....Ginger......... ... .. .

Nope, she didn't fall asleep until after we'd been home for a bit But once she crashed, she crashed hard. Unfortunately, I had to wake her a little bit--absolutely neccessary diaper change (in other words, not just wet...) but she fell back asleep I'm planning to do a write-up for --when it's done and up, I'll post a link (probably in my journal)

OH! MY.. well if she did not sleep on the plane , did she do OK??..But I was thinking if she slept on the plane then she would probable be awake for half the nite...and have her sleep schedule turned around... .. So are things all back to normal??...And be sure to let me know when she first learns to make a sound on the kazoo... ... ... I wish I could be there for that..... By for now ... .. .

I don't know if you're interested, but all 4 Pawloskis will be in Portland sometime during the week after July 15. My grandpa died earlier this year, and we're going to Stayton for what would've been his 86th birthday, to celebrate his life. We'll be heading up to Portland to go to the zoo, since Faith will be 8 and her little sister 2-and-nearly-a-half. We don't have a set day for the zoo trip yet, and I thought it'd be fun to arrange a micromeet there (I've asked miki on FaceBook if she'd be interested, as well. She's in Seattle, though, so arranging time off this close might be difficult...)

Just checking in--still no set date for going to the zoo yet--I've been waiting to hear from you If I don't hear anything by next Saturday, I'll just pick a day.

OH! My, I have mail? .. I am very fine and it is good to hear from you .. You make your plans and if I fit in for a meet and great that would be fun .. Are there no other hootooers in Portland ?? It would be fun to find them ... We have a very big, wonderful zoo . I have not been there for years .. I went to their web site and did not think it did the zoo justice at all .. It seemed to me that at first glance you would not know that they have a train .. I do not know if the short ride is worth much .. And it seems the longer ride is only at very limited times. But the longer ride is out through a hillside and comes out at the top of Washington Park and a great view of the city and East looking to Mt. Hood(if my memory is not confusing me.) .. I thing our famous rose gardens are near by .. The roses have only been in bloom for the last 3/4 weeks because we have had a record breaking cold and rain 'til then .. There are many different area to aim for at the zoo to meet. But I would not want to tie you down to one spot .. You want to follow the children's interest .. I'm sure we can connect by cell phone. As I look for you/catch up, I will also be seeing the zoo. .. Keep in touch and we will see how thing work out .. But whatever keep it fun for you and the children ..

My email's on my PS--email me, and I'll send you my cell phone number. It'll be much easier to figure things out that way! (As far as I know, you're the only Portlander.)
