I think Vista probably needs 3GB memory, for a fast computer. But, the fastest DIMM comes in 2GB or even 4GB packs. My pc has only 2GB of ram, but I am on XP first edtion home, UPDATING takes a week. It can only see up to 3GB, hence the 2GB.
XP 64 professional can see 8GB, but I don't need it with XP home, my pc is fast enough.
However in a couple of years XP will suffer dementure, courtesy of M$, then the new op should be available, I think called explorer.

Maybe the collapsing version of explorer will be called Imploder.

I can remember having to pay for Opera, or was it Netscape. This is very worrying if true, firefox is developing into a very fine browser.
M$ took over an antivirus company I can't remember the name of, from it they developed 'Defender' which is a mutation of what the company developed, with the difference that it doesn't work as effectively. It has only a one way firewall.

If I understand correctly, Netscape became Firefox at some point.

I have fond memories of Netscape, it would open pages that IE failed on.
This was around the time that Interpals had a very popular but tempremental chatroom. Netscape coped best.
