When my mother was in the nursing home, my sister cut her toenails for her. You'd think there would be someone on the staff who would do that, but either there wasn't or they charged an arm and a leg.

I'm sorry about the nail debacle at the airport, Lanzababy. I'm familiar with shellac because my father used to prepare wooden desks and bedsteads, etc. I don't understand what the manicurist used instead of shellac. What do you suppose she used?

I swim regularly, so it's lucky I don't need to worry about nail polish.

Deb is right, Sean looks great!

Try hemp seed oil instead of olive oil for your skin (and nails as it were). It smells a bit differently but it works great!

Indeed - I'm very impressed with the picture, too - really captured Mr Connery's expression well, and the lighting is excellent (puts my meagre John Deacon picture in the shade, but the main thing is we enjoy the process of creating the pictures smiley - ok )

I still think that Connery was the best of the James Bonds.

I agree, if I think of Bond, it's Connery that pops into my mind.

Well done on the oo7 painting, very nice work! My wife spends hours messing around with nail art, amazing what you can do with newspaper and vodka! Stunning results rather than buying stick on ones! smiley - cheers

To remove shellac , soak cotton wool pad in acetone, wrap around nail, cover with tin foil and leave for ten minutes, should just rub off! You owe my wife a drink lol.smiley - tea

True, that's how I found out it wasn't shellac smiley - winkeye and why the girl lied, it was some form of gel.

Nice Bond!

My nails are usually awful - they split and break really easily. I try massaging Lush's Lemony Flutter on them to strengthen teh cuticles, and ocassionally they'll grow to a length where I can take them to a nail place and have them filed and painted neatly. But then they break again....

I don't even dare to go into Lush... I fear for my wallet smiley - laughsmiley - blush some* of those creams and potions are just so* expensive... smiley - weird I useually end up buying wahtever brand-name moisturiser is on offer, in Boots, or superdrug and try to keep a foot moisturiser, a hand cream, and a 'general' moistuiser in at any time smiley - diva I must get some cuticle cream though, or soemthing for strengthening my nails smiley - diva

I must remember to buy some of Lush's hair conditioner, which was magic. I could start a whole new grievance journal on the vaguaries of hair products. Every time I find one that suits me, they take it off the market. I think I must have odd requirements and not enough of the general population likes the same stuff that I do, so after a few months it vanishes into oblivion. smiley - wah

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I've used panteen for years and years now; the 'solo' shampoo (I.E., not 2 in 1), I use daily, and then I use the conditioner, once or twice a week... admitidly the hair would look better, were I to conditioner more often, bu its pretty good, nearly all teh time, with just one or two conditins a week, and of course, not conditioning every day, saves a bit of time in the shower, and money on buying the conditionr... I used tmoatai years ago, but I think that changed; likewise for herbal essences; I tried some of the fancier (I.E., more expensive ones, but didn't like them), Nicky clark (or however its selt), was disapoitngin but I bought it when it was on offer, so no great loss smiley - laughsmiley - diva
I only use the dove bar soap these days (which i use as a 'shaving soap' too), which is moisturising and I like smiley - blush but I do vary what shower gels I use (useualy based on either what is on offer, or moreoften, just getting the one off the shelf, at the point where I've utterly lost i inteest inlooking at the ten million differnt ones they have)... I tend to use 'female shower gel', as I find it better than the male specific ones... quite what makes one a female shower gel, and the other a male one, I can only hazzard a guess at... the female ones don't seem to useually have overly 'girly scent' to them, so yeh, I've not a clue really smiley - laughsmiley - diva

smiley - laugh that is probably so* near the truth!; I imagine a huge factory, turning out thousands of bottles of shower gel a day; three, maybe four brands; within each brand, what, half a dozen 'male shower gels', and two dozen differnt 'flavoured' 'female shower gels'....... all the bottles identicle, cept for the labelling.....

Spouts from the machien.... with the 'shower gel' ocming out... and just press a button back stage, change one ingredient going tinto the 'spout' and bang, you've switched from one brand, and one flavour, to another smiley - laugh

I'm told the deodorant I use is exactly the same whether I buy the male or the female version smiley - weird and I can believe that. I sense no difference whatsoever

A few weeks ago I tried washing my hair with conditioner only for a few weeks. Didn't make much difference so I'm back to basic shampoo, which is much cheaper
