Quizaz, Quizaz, Quizaz.... is a Spanish song sung in English by my childhood idol/role model, Doris Day.
I always thought that her famous version of Que Sera, Sera would be one to accompany to my desert island, as it is so much the sound of my childhood, and I still love it as it brings back so many memories. But now, I bring you 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps.

Coincidentally I heard that song on Radio 2 over the weekend. She was my Mum's favourite, too.

Thanks!
The song was used for the series 'Coupling' a few years back, not sure if it was Doris singing though.
Here is why I loved Doris, she got to wear pretty dresses ( which had gone out of fashion when I grew up ) but she also was the famous Calamity Jane and got to shoot big guns.

I didn't know that song, and GEMA blocked it (what else), but I now installed an app which enables me to watch youtube clips that GEMA blocks (about 90% of all links posted here).

I can't watch Youtube from work so I was wondering "Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps, I wonder if that's the same one from Coupling", then I read your next post Lanza. Spooky!
Haven't heard Doris sing it so I'll give it a listen when I get home. She has a lovely voice.

Doris was a hardworking gal! Dodging the attentions of John Raitt in a pajama factory in "Pajama Game", Learning the trapeze with Jimmy Durante in "Jumbo," foiling piano thief Frank Sinatra in "Young at Heart," venturing to sea in "Glass Bottom Boat."

Oh, feel free to clutter, it's not meant as my sole territory. The business of listening to music that your friends enjoy is rather nice, particularly when we are such a long distance from each other in the real world. Here in h2g2, the music seems to bring us closer.
I have tomorrow's record chosen already, and the following three. Then I am not sure - I think I must have met a very business patch in my life and not listened to much.

Today's offering is from the sixties, and is one of the records that were played at home. I think there was a collection of 78's (?) would this be correct? of people like Sinatra and Perry Como and others whose names are forgotten. Lots of crooners.
I love the atmosphere in this song, it reminds me of formal dinner dances, men wearing beautiful suits, cigar smoke, brandy, close dancing. Long evening dresses and silver dancing shoes.
There is nothing to beat dancing close in the arms of a sexy man wearing an expensive italian suit, and this music makes me remember those times very clearly.

Right now IO'm listening to "Bachianas Brasileiras," which arrived in the mail yesterday. I honestly don't hear any Bach influence, but the Brazilian touches are great!

Nice. I'm not an italian suit kind of guy - as you well know - but I like class when I see or (as in this case) here it. Dino had lots of it

Italian suits have always been too tight at the waist for me. This seems odd, because there are plenty of Italian men whose waists are anything but skinny.

Again, I can't listen from work, but I know this one and can hear it in my head.
Dean Martin had a wonderful voice. Also very handsome! I remember watching old episodes of him and Jerry Lewis when I was about 15 (so he would have been around 65 in real life!) and feeling my heart yearn. Oh those teenage hormones!
