Okey dokey! No time to waste - pack your bags those of you who want a bit of sunshine - 2legs - You're only allowed one pair of in hand luggage - the rest will have to go in the hold.

Typing in mittens doesn't really help with the spellings does it Paul?
2legs - handcuffs aren't sharp are they? It's just that I suspect they may be heavy, and hand luggage is usually limited to 5kgs. Your netbook or other gadgety belongings will take up most of what's left.

the netbook is 1.1 KG if I remember correctly, but that probably doesn't* include the charger... are shiney and metal... and probably a bit sharp... quite heavy...

2legs, if you need cuffs then your bondage skills need work.
Mind you, taking rope would probably get just as many odd looks...

Morning Vip! Nice to see you!

Good morning indeed! Just back from a busy weekend away. A good weekend but the hotel was right above a main street in Birmingham, and the taxis didn't stop hooting until about 4.am.
The move back to sunnier climes seems a good idea to me too - I am jealous! I'm back at work.
On the plus side, I got one massive bit of subbing done last night (along with writing a letter to my grandmother and a couple of bits of paperwork that I've been meaning to do for a few days). Bengal Tiger writes very interesting articles, but boy do they take their time to review! It's worth it though - he's plugging some gaps in the Guide that nobody else has the knowledge to do.

Yes - that must have been a labour of love. You are right though, it is worth it just to see the variety of entries. But it must have taken hours. Well done you!
If you ever get a chance Vip - you and Mr Vip must come and visit me as well. 2010 is going to be my year of house guests.

Really? Oooh! I don't know how much holiday we have left (Mr Vip has to use half of his up on training courses for work ) but I'll see what I can do.
Thanks!

I know you don't like *very* hot weather - but I am probably going to be there for the end of April and beginning of May, when it is average 25C in the daytime. I will probably be back in England for the hottest months ( ie July, August and September)
Let me know - you can find me on FB if you like more private info sharing.

Ooh good for you!
Although I have to argue the corner for a bit of proper british weather. Yesterday was relatively balmy, I was enjoying the warmth (so long as there was no breeze) and found a light fluffle of snow for about five minutes quite amusing. It was sunny *all* day and spring is definitely showing itself right proper down here in the west country. Bristol is starting to bloom and I love it!
And today's freezing cold and wet snow is still fun. For me anyway. I cant stand it always being the same, and I'm not terrifically enamoured with hot hot weather anyway, so warm I dont mind either way. Bright and clear and sunny are essential to keep me happy!

Well we've got really heavy snow here again today, and any vague attempt the weather was making in the direction of spring looks long gone yet again
Vip: I like metal... ropes can be good too though Actually quite like some of the leather cuffs/restrains too and handcuffs can be nice and quick for err being quickly attached or restrainted to something (and I'm not very good at doing rope, but seeing as how I don't relaly restrain other people... more the other way round, that never seems to be a problem )

Might there be places on Lanzarote where one could buy rope? Surely there are places where boats can pull up, which means that there should be a mrine store somewhere. Long ago I bought a sturdy rope at at place called Bliss Marine in Boston....

Oh sure, there are many ship's chandlers on the island. Not sure they sell the sort of rope that 2legs has in mind though
I guess there are other sorts of shops too that might be of interest
...avoids the deep hole that I seem to be digging for myself.
How did we get onto this subject in the first place?
Oh well - I'm just sticking this link here because I love it
