Well, by accident, I got a new e-mail address. It's on my h2g2 homepage if you want to have a look.

Good question - in reality, it would probably be a collection of numbers (though the effect is mainly numbers -> colours, rather than the other way round).

Hi Ali,
Very nice, thanx, 'twas #1 daughter's 3rd birthday + party - so very hectic, but good fun.
Why the long hiatus ? we missed you !
Thanks for the BLP's - do you think they'd survive being baked in cookies ? along with the h*** addition & 'shrooms, they would be some really something else foodstuff !

you know that sounded decidedly dodgy to me,
but if you are going to make any h*** cookies, I wouldn't say no!

What a splendid idea, Tig. We shall have a batch whipped up immediately. Was your house overrun by sprogs? Sounds delightful. How's the paper stripping coming? oh, good, the cookies are ready. *removes hot, delicious super-cookies from baking sheet* Cheers friends.

Completely overrun by sprogs & their mothers ! However, they all seemed to enjoy themselves.
Paper is all stripped *drum roll* - we're now on the 'make repairs to the cracks in the plaster, that the paper had been covering' stage
Til then

That stage can be pretty tedious, too. But also very satisfying. The only thing I've been overrun with lately is mice. When I go to feed the wild birds, there are mice in the seed bin, they"ve been in drawers (left DNA evidence), and yesterday, i rescued one from the cats upstairs. (the 2 cats have the upstairs to the house for themselves). I let that one go in the garage so it has food. I can't bear to kill anything.

Was that a 'I let it go in the garage so it *has* food' or 'it *is* food' (for the cats) ?
I just wish that the cats wouldn't play with their 'food' - if they just knocked them off & ate them, it wouldn't seem so bad (I guess I'm a softy, I grew up in central London)

My cat goggles on had one eye due to getting cat flu when she was little(she got an abses on her eye which the vet had to remove cos of it), she got gingervitus?? is that the one and lost all her teeth and claws and a lot of fur, and she was rejected by her mother Kim when she was born so we had to feed her with a bottle from a tiny kitten, and she still managed to catch mice and leave them on our doorstep, amazing really.
I've never understood why cats leave them on your doorstep like some sort of present, maybe they think you make it into their dinner?

No, I took it away from the cats. I let it go in the garage because that's where I keep the wild bird seed. I keep it in an open plastic garbage can and, often, I am surprised in the morning by mice that feed there. I always let them go to surprise me another day. I don't even kill spiders, I'm a softy, too. Krunchy. I believe that cats leave mice and birds on the doorstep because they love us and want to provide food for us. Just like the presents they leave in the litter box.

I love cats sooo much. I used to hate them actually, until I met Pussy when I was the tender age of 8. I was sitting in the back garden on a hot, sunny July afternoon, when something caught my eye. I sa the thinnest cat imaginable waling towards me. He was so thin I could see his backbone, and he had a wound by his tail. My heart went out to him. Without even thinking, I said "Would you like some milk?", and you won't believe this:he understood what I said!!!!! He wouldn't stop meiowing until I gave some to him! Everyday for then the next few months, he's come to us every afternoon for his bowl of milk, then we fed him sardines. That happened for the next 2 or 3 years. We found out he lived over the back to us, and I'm sooo glad I fed and looked after him, because he was very mistreated. He then got a new owner who over-fed him!!! I then stopped feeding him for obvious reasons, but never stopped loving him. Even after his death from cancer last year. I won't go too into it, as I miss him so much, and have photos of him all over my bedroom wall! Whenever I look at them, it brings a tear to my eyes. He was so unique.
