he has been transferred back to Wakefield/Pinderfields hospital today and was "checked" over by the main doc'.He is due another xray tomorrow and I'll be seeing the main doc' then also, for hopefully! a good update on developments
This hospital, is one of the best in Europe for spinal injuries etc and recoveries

and to start withthe female junior doctor who first came to him, she could GET me to recover

this afternoon he had his plastic neck brace/support taken off and a "halo" fitted - This is a half moon shaped carbon bar, that is screwed in to his skull by 4 screws (approx' 3mm in) 2 are above his eyebrows on his forehead and 1 over each ear as such. There is a 10lb weight hanging over the rear of his bed attached by cord to this bar. This is part traction and part to keep his head straight ?, the length of time he's like this is unknown to me ?

I now have a son who is a Borg - resistance is futile

had a phone call from son this afternoon (err! girlfriend holding phone)sounds like some good news ?, so I'll be visiting tomorrow for full update

There is a free shuttle minibus that goes from our hospital to outside the one my son's in every hour and return and our hospital is a 10 minute walk away
