Inspired by aitutaki's rant against the machine.smiley - winkeye

I was thinking, 'Well, txtspk isn't Shakespeare...'

I like the bit about ...finding out there's no more / Levelling...
What would we all do if we could get no better at what we do?

I agree. As Stevenson (I believe) said, 'To travel hopefully is better than to arrive.'smiley - winkeye

True in whatever dimension you find yourself in.

Genius.

Sorry, that's it.

(Somewhere down the line, is there going to be an explanation of exactly what Hamlet did to you that was so bad? smiley - winkeye)

smiley - rofl Thanks, Trin.

Actually, it wasn't Hamlet, it was Laurence Olivier. Put his 'Hamlet' up against Branagh's, and you'll see.smiley - winkeye (If you've got seven hours of your life you don't need for anything else.)

"Farm Out"? Please tell me what that one means exactly (I can guess vaguely) so I can use it with authority on someone who criticises my txtspk efforts for wrong spellings and 'superfluous words'! She'd have the red ink out on this one - an 'e' in 'next'? smiley - biggrin!

I love it, highly entertaining. What makes it more than just a laugh is the tone and the waking up to real life twist.

"What it - just if -" should the it be an if?
And 'Bad breaks and no gl', what's gl? Can't guess that one.

Thnkx m8,
Wz

Google gives me two Miracle Mile options,

http://www.usus.org/timo/355days/2004/05/the_miracle_mile_photo.php

and

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f4/Miraclemile1.jpg

Reckon those two cover most people's taste, or distaste, between them.

thx for the corrections. smiley - smiley Made them.

I only use the modified txtspk that gamers use, so it's probably a non-standard dialect.smiley - winkeye

gl=smiley - goodluck

And the Miracle Mile in most of the US is a dreary stretch of highway lined with malls, strip malls, and fast food restaurants, such as seen in all suburbs and exurban areas.smiley - rolleyes

OK, having equipped myself with an introduction to txtspk and a copy of Hamlet, I've finally read this properly.

And I'm glad I did. It's smiley - laugh and smiley - rofl! I particularly liked the 'ninja move' and the idea of ending up at the reclaim. I still don't understand 'RL' and 'XP' but never mind.

RL I took to be real life. But perhaps that's an h2g2 dialect.

XP I assumed to be some sort of gamer reward.

Nxt time I get crit on my txspk, I'll tell her it's Shropshire dialect. Slower pace of life here, hence thnkx not thx smiley - winkeye.

smiley - rofl I love the Shropshire dialect of txtspk. Please write us something in it.smiley - winkeye

RL=Real Life
XP=experience points, which you get in gaming. Experience points lead to levelling.
