The problem is that I am not a good judge of fiction, and I really dislike derivitive fan-fiction, so I am biased against this one to begin with.
I will therefore confine myself to pointing out that the author hasn't posted since December 2002, and leave it up to other Miners to comment on the quality of the piece.

This has a feel more of one of a series rather than a standalone piece.
I would vote for a move to FM, so that someone else could maybe pick this one up and run with it
