This is a sarcastic piece of information that is highly exaggerated. Please review it and let me know if it makes you laugh!

Hi Ian,
Liked the entry a lot! Very funny indeed! Particularly the microwave dinners....
I'm not a climber myself, but I worked at an outdoor activity centre with lots of them, so I've got some insight into the rather odd mindset that you lot seem to have!
I suppose you could add "a towel" to the list of things to take mountain climbing. As long as you know where your towel is.....
Best wishes and keep writing!
Otto.

Reads good , and a slight touch of sarcasm isn't dangerous, considering that the Writing Guidelines demand entries to be factual.
However, if your intentions are to get it into the Edited Guide then please keep in mind that there are already Edited entries with related subjects around:
Rock Climbing http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A138313
Rock Climbing Terminology http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A507223
The problem is that the Guide's policy is to combine entries via the h2g2 Update HQ (http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A496451), rather than having two entries about a subject.
The not-problem is that you'll get Edited entry credits anyway

A nice funny entry. I wish I had read it before I started climbing.
What you do not describe, is why anyone should climb a mountain in the first place. The standard answer always has been 'because its there', maybe there is a better reason in your line of talking.
Another thing not to take along is a gsm phone, as on most of the higher mountains there is no antenna. while it would have the most effect on the summit.
Remember, most summits are small places, so you may have to push away some other climbers before you can reach it, and before they try to push you over the brink.
But if you fall down, pray you are distracted in time, so you may fly the rest of the way down.

Hilarious!
Never having climbed a mountain, or wanted to, I am pleased to say this article helped me reaffirm my position.
Why would they not take it into the EG? Oh, yeah, there's other articles on the subject.........
Pardon me if that seems to miss the point.
Anyway, up you go, dear entry, and may many more have a right old larf.

Congratulations
UnderGuide Editors Posted Nov 6, 2003
Congratulations! Your Guide Entry has been picked from the Alternative Writing Workshop (AWW) by our miners and has been accepted by the editors for inclusion in the H2G2 UnderGuide! It will be featured on H2G2's front page in due course and then be displayed on the shelves of the UnderGuide.
More information on the UnderGuide can be found at A1103329. And to check what happens next go to 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at A1096544. A helpful friendly Gem Polisher will be dropping by your personal space soon to talk to you about the next stage of the process.
As the entry will be archived in the UnderGuide, it would help the miners in their search for new UnderGuide entries in the AWW if you would consider taking this version of your entry out of the AWW. This can be done by clicking on the 'X' or 'Remove' on the AWW page at <./>RF5</.> Feel no obligation to, however.
Thank you for contributing to the UnderGuide!
