yes, but since I'm on the Pacific coast I could technically be on the other side of the Pacific you see. The tradition view of being west of Europe has it's roots in the expansion of exploration in a western direction even though the distance may in some cases be more than an eastern measurement when using a longtitudinal standard rather than a polar route. Not to mention that it really depends which way you are facing when making the statement in that when you are on the North Pole every direction is south.
And you dress funny.
