Still no direct link with the birdie, though.

Parrferris but I've never heard of Robin Goodfellow, and really, I can't see the Relevance with the Entry.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Dec 21, 2004
I've heard of him as Puck, but he is not anything to do with the bird "Robin", as far as I can see. The name 'Robin' is also an informal version of Robert, as in Robin Hood, but this is not anything to do with the bird either.

My thoughts exactly BigAl
When I first submitted this entry to Peer Review, I didn't expect it to go through the PR process by Christmas
But, I've sat here and watched other entries that were ready to be picked at the around the same time, or after, being 'fast-tracked' (IMO) through the PR process, while 'Robins' was left behind.
I've lurked in PR for a few weeks, and still don't understand how the process works, and what criteria is used when picking Entries.

There are two criteria for picking:
1. It has to be ready. One way a scout can judge this is by the amount of conversation. If there's loads, then chances are the entry isn't ready yet. If the conversation has all died away, then it is probably ready.
2. A scout has to like it enough to pick it. This is purely personal preference.
This will be picked eventually. Of that there is no doubt. It might even be picked tomorrow, if they do any picks tomorrow.
Once it has been picked, the time it takes before hitting the front page can vary enormously from a couple of days to a couple of months. That depends on just how well edited it already is, the editors' fancy and how busy the sub-eds are.

Great work, Emmily! I'd like to add my congratulations on the interesting information and outstanding use of links in this very entertaining Entry, and I don't think the Entry is too late just because Christmas Day has passed. It's not as though the entire species of European Robins dematerialises once everyone has finished their .
To paraphrase a famous ad: a robin is for life, not just for Christmas. And so is a Guide Entry. And Scouts do make picks over the festive season. Trust me on that one.

A question (another one I won't learn if I don't ask )
I've just been reading A266131 I've got a lot of double " should I change them to single ' ?
Was the only use single ' for all situations, or are there exceptions?
(There's a few more things I need to change too, from what I've leant over the last few days.)

Noooooooooo I thought I could be clever, simply cut the text with " to Word, and use the 'Replace' function to replace them with ' and simple paste back like ...But I can't do that, Word is not compatible(for want of better word) to GuideML, they look different, have to through and change them the hard way.
Oh well, keep me out of mischeif for a while.

I quite like the entry, but did find the quoting of *all* of Cock Robin to be distracting without adding much to the entry....

Hmmmm but then again Mikey, there's not many places on the net where it can be read in full, so it maybe a bonus in disguise.

PS. you can blame BigAl for that, he suggested to add about robin folklore
(Hopes her memory is correct and it was BigAl's suggestion, before BigAl arrives and )

I think adding actual text about robin folklore makes sense, but I still think a quote that long is incredibly distracting -- if I hadn't been reading it for Peer Review, I would have lost interest and clicked on at that point.
There are lots of things out there that aren't available elsewhere, but I don't think that in of itself is a good reason to pile them into an entry -- everything in an Edited Guide entry should add to the content, not distract.

Ok mikey If I just use the first few lines or so, and a link to the full version, I'd be happy, would you?
