A masterpiece! I was utterly hooked. Beautifully crafted, subtle, powerful and deeply moving.
I want to say so much more. Yet I feel my words would never say enough....

Wow.
Ian, I am Lebanese. I am used to hyperbole and rage, foaming and spitting when I hear stories of unjust killings. The power of your quiet voice has totally floored me.
Thank you for sharing your memories.
Wilma

I'm sure you'll get the hang of it, Ian
You are very kind to mention my page. I had a lot of help to make it look that good.
I have a good teacher but she has a poor pupil

Ian,
This is a most interesting and beautifully expressed piece of autobiography. It opens intriguingly and takes the reader in surprising directions, dangling a random series of, sometimes cleverly misleading, images as bait for the mind's titillation; thus motivating the reader to continue to the denouement. The final passages punch home their stark realities; the truth of the randomness of destiny's dart in life's uncertain journey.

Is there anything more like this in here? I'm going to have to spend more time in the Alternative Writing Workshop. This is remarkable.
