Oh, neat stuff. I definitely like this.
Thanks for posting it - it raised a smile and gave something to think about on a Saturday afternoon time-out.

Thanks for your kind comments. Perhaps I should write more poems of this type.

This is very good !! I loved the wry humour in the poem, and the last line was brilliant. I really enjoyed this poem. Thankyou minorVogonpoet. Best wishes Rose xx

Yeah, it's good. I like the metaphor of the sexual machine. And the gender flip ... usually women are rides and men toss them.

Thank you. It's nice to contemplate a bit of feminist rebellion...

Well, how many of us actually rebel? How many of us start out thinking we're going to get equal opportunities in terms of jobs etc, but end up doing the housework as well as earning our keep?

Interesting point.......but more than interesting, why is your PS being moderated.
Do you mind that I ask ?

Hello vogon poet,
my comment was tongue in cheek, I did rebel, divorce is often a radical statement declaring war on errant husbands. In the workplace I am not skilled to judge , because I started my own business after divorce, but there I would say the toughness of life is measured out equally.
I do have sympathy with the housework issue though. Women do seem to have the raw end of the deal here. I have two sons and in spite of insistent training, they will stand back and let me do the work.

Hello dazzlinglucinda. At the moment, I'm concentrating on writing better stories and developing a livelier style of poetry. I never succeeded in training my son!

There's on offer, but best not while in charge of a bicycle perhaps. Congratulations on both 'Anniversary present' and 'You Are My Bicycle' being picked out by the Underguide Miners to go into <./>underguide</.>.
And well deserved, too. Both really neat ideas you've followed through.
An UnderGuide Polisher will contact you about any final polishing before creating a UG copy of the entry to be featured on h2g2's Front Page some week in the next couple of months.
Cheers and thanks,
UGeds

Many thanks for selecting my poems. I've just realised that I left the last line off this one!

It should have been. It was part of the original poem.
