hmm, I will dance until everyone goes home - and then if we have a house-ful I will happily fall asleep on a cushion - although with everyone in the room with me!! That way I can still hear them in my sleep!!

No, normally when I go I've gone - I just like to give the impression I make a re-appearance!!! LOL I did once fall asleep with my chin resting on my hand at the dinner table - everyone just seemed to get further and further away!!

My husband has been chatting to someone in Bucks, who told him that there had been an ice storm, and large pieces of ice fell. I asked if he had been drinking because the temperature has been so high? Have you heard of this strangeness?

Funnily enough when I was driving home last night I drove through this storm where the "rain" looked like massive bits of hail as they splatted on the windscreen - but I thought I was just going mad!! LOL

You mean you couldn't just pop outside put your hands in the air and yell STOP and it all stopped.
Hubs friend said that one or two cars were injured but thankfully no people. He reckons there were hail stones as big as cricket balls.

Oh I do think your policemen are just wonderful (said in American twangy accent)
I just cannot understand how me getting old means that Police Officers have to look so young and short, over here even the officers seem to be getting shorter.

So if you join up at 48 - when do you retire - is it a certain amount of time you have to serve?

It has rained for most of the day today, and there is a lot of thunder about. It is very muggy and of course the dampness means more mozzies although while it is raining we have some peace from them.
Yesterday, we went to the beach and it rained. It was really odd feeling to be in the sea which was warm and the rain was cool. One of the things I will miss when we come back will be the warm sea.
