A Conversation for Parents evening.

Right, I've tried to standardise the use of apostrophes - it's now exclusively "parents evening" (I hope). I think further headers would just confuse the articles layout, but I've placed a gap between the fraught evening bit and the introduction to differentiate them.
Thanks for your comments.

This is looking very good now, AW. I wonder if anyone else has any other comments? I am happy with it as it stands.

Mine's on Tuesday.
And it's of the "all teachers in the assembly hall at separte desks, allotted times for each (5 minutes), child to accompany" variety.

sorry to chat in a PR thread but I did read the entry once more before I went to hear how brilliant the Gruesomes are

Some of this is very familiar, but obviously the procedure varies from school to school.
My sons' primary school called them consultation evenings. They held a 'settling in' one in the first term and a 'progress review' one in the second term, both without the child present. In the final term reports were issued & a 'celebration evening' held, where the school was open for children, parents & any other interested parties to look round & see childrens' work. The same evening a session took place for the parents of children having taken tests at the end of Key Stages, to explain the results in principle. No refreshments were offered!
About half way through secondary school, pupil attendance at parents evenings was introduced as an optional extra. The sixth form college that my younger son attends has a general tutor group meeting, but only one chance to meet staff individually. Otherwise we receive written reports, or Individual learning Plans, that have been discussed with the student. Refreshments free - better offerings at independent schools than state ones.
A few comments on the entry:
I'd be inclined to re-write the first sentence. To me, it implies that it just happens spontaneously, sometimes not at all! They are usually a regular part of the school's calendar of events, planned in advance.
-> undoubtedly
< like as not you will be forced to go to one>
Doesn't say much for parents being involved with their childrens' education, does it? I understand that this is a fun piece but should it be quite so disparaging?
overran -> overrun
-> form

Right, I've taken most of these suggestions into the main entry. I entirely agree with you over the overran/overrun bit - it's just I can't seem to find it! Isn't that hopeless?
Anyway, see what you think.

Mm, that is reading better.
Overran - is in 3. Law & order.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
