Solicitors and Barristers
Orcus Posted Dec 21, 2012
Solicitors were formally barred from speaking in a high court until relatively recently. In the last decade or so this was repealed and so there is now a much greyer area between barristers and solicitors.
Barristers are rather specifically trained in debating and cross examination in open court though, much more so than solicitors.
I definitely wouldn't go to a barrister to write a will, do the conveyancing for my house sale or get a divorce though
