I don't think I'll bother suggesting rum-soaked raisins to the kids, though. They don't like raisins.

I might have to go next door, in the morning, to get a bottle of rum so I can make my breakfast 
The prescison of it, I like... gona try soemthing rather simular tomorrow if I'm up in time to make it to ahve porridge for breakfast number 1, before I get round to juice and toast, before the main fried breakfast of the day

No, definitely not Malibu, or Bacardi. One soaks raisins in *dark* rum. Supermarket own brand rum is fine. A small tupperware container is best.

If you've not got time to soak them over night, in the rum, can you just pour rum over the porridge? 
oo... speaking of which must be breakfast time....
Best enjoy the milky goodness of porrige made with milk, whilst we still have milk, before the FBI take over the worlds supply and deny us access to m milk and cheese

Don't think I've ever had them... a big box of oats seems the chepest way, and just less fiddling, judging by everyones descriptions of exact measuring of the milk and stuff... I only ever really guestimate the liquid to oats, and it never seems to go wrong 
though I do fear what will happen when they've stolen all the milk from us
