Does anyone else find the photo of Damien Hirst posing with a dead man's head disgusting?
There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Aug 30, 2000
Yes, but not half as much as the fact that the ad is from Doubleclick - those f*&%@ers who for the past few years have been collecting as much information about us and about our surfing habits as they can, collating it, and selling it to the highest bidder. If you want to find out more, go here http://news6.thdo.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid%5F879000/879890.stm and here http://news6.thdo.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid%5F842000/842624.stm and be sure to try out the Junkbusters link to find out just how much the net can find out about you without you even knowing!

I had been letting it float across my retinas without paying much attention too; but the other night, whenever I started this thread, h2g2 was loading really slowly, for some reason, and I found myself staring at it for minutes at a time. This always seems to evoke a particularly strong reaction late at night, for some reason (a different one).
That business of organizations you don't even know about, for the most part, gathering information about you is a troubling thing. But, on the other hand, people with power or something to sell have always been drawing caricatures of us; is it better or worse that now they may really know who we are and what what we're actually like.
