Being a Forces wife we are currently in Germany..(ooh hurrah..NOT) and they have very stupid laws out here...for example
You cannot hang washing out to dry on Saturday afternoons or an a Sunday, now this completely baffles me. Do they think we don't have dirty clothes to wash on a weekend???
What other silly laws apply where you live??

It is against the law to ride a camel on a public highway in BC.
(I don't know about secondary roads) Evidently, during the Cariboo Gold rush in the late 19th Century (which occurred before the Klondike rush) somebody decided camels would be superior to mules as pack animals...for whatever reason; whether it was lack of feed, or just the temperament of camels, it didn't work out somehow and a law was passed against camels. It's still on the books, so don't bring your camel here...

Where I live the country roads are always full of pheasants playing 'chicken' and running out in front of your car. If you hit a pheasant with your car (last time broken headlight - £85), you are not allowed to stop and pick up the dead pheasant, if you do you are commiting an offence. However, another car passing by is allowed to collect the pheasant and take it home for supper. The agricultural students from the local college get around this by taking two cars out when they fancy pheasant casserole, one to hit the birds and the second to collect them.

In France you have to choose your child's name from a state register of approved names....
