I have two Dell notebooks that are running WinXP (Home Edition, OEM) and have seen SP3 out for a while. Before I inflict it on either box, I thought I'd ask for any comments or reports from folks who may have met this update.
As general info, one notebook is about 5 years old, the other 2 years old.
Thank you.

I didn't realise it was out.
I installed it earlier this afternoon, and my PC has since hung twice, so I've rolled back to SP2.
Having said that, the failures might have something to do with my unusual system setup.

Right, I installed it on the eldest notebook. A 750 MHz, 512 MB RAM toy that had been dealing well enough. I tend to minimize the number of background services and such that run. Even so, it does seem to be bogging down more. The install used another half-gigabyte of drive space, which is not that bad. And maybe 40 some minutes from start to finish.
One wonky bit ... Engaging Windows Live Messenger, each time it seeks out the original install packet and takes a bit of time to run through some steps. No operator intervention needed, but it does add about 3 or 4 minutes to beginning Messenger.

Final comment from me on this ... I have reverted/rolled-back to SP2. Far too often, some background bit was consuming the limited resources and apps were lagging, the mouse-movement was hit'n'miss and even 'clicking' was a 10 or 12 step process. Task Manager didn't show any particular service as taking up chunks of CPU resource, it just bogged down. Far too frustrating. Just my experience, on a little old notebook.
