I went to McDonalds in Prague once. I had a very full bladder and didn't really want to negotiate with some cafe owner in Czech .

I've never eaten a rabbit, but would quite like to try.
Actually, other than fish, I've never caught and killed my own food, which is something I'd liked to do.
There used to be a thing with jellied eels in English coastal towns, and I think you can still get them, but its mostly a weird touristy thing now.
I ate 'jellied sea worm' in China, but I still don't know if that was eel or not. It came with a chilli dip and was quite tasty, but had a strange texture.

They sell jellied eels in my local Sainsies; well this is sarf London. I was queuing up at the fish counter today to buy some poncy big clams. Some old bloke in front of me ordered a gigantic pot of the jellied eels...
He made me feel so middle class.
(Yes SWL eating off the top off your head is delish )

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted May 1, 2008
I ate jellied eels once, I can't actually remember what the eel tasted like as the jelly and bones put me off. I suspect if the eel was just boiled, boned and un-jellied I would like eel. I like most fish and sea food in general so expect I would like plain boiled eel, yes I know eels in jellied eel are freshwater fish.

I love seafood, but I can't stand eel (or catfish, strangely enough - as you'll see in the next "Our Man in Milliways" ). It's got an awful texture and a sort of "swampy" taste.

Well if you ever feel the need to try then begin with a chicken or a rabbit. Both are dead easy(), hold in a firm grip around the neck and then simply flick the animal as though it was a whip which effectivly breaks it's neck and then give it a quick stretch and twist to finish the whole operation. Very fast, very humane.
Some people who do this on a regular basis prefer to bleed them first which is a different thing altogether and I wont go into details here.
All things of course that your not going to be able to do if your an urban dweller.

I've never liked the idea of caviar, and I hear it's an 'acquired taste' as me old Mum would say...

One of the most abiding and most horrible memories of my marriage, is that of my ex-husband the Putz (as he's known) catching eels and keeping them in the laundry sink. The evil little b*ggers just would not die, even when he cut them up!
The ex is a 5th generation Kiwi of mostly Irish descent... and he ate eels, I just wouldn't.

My father was an urban dweller and he did that with chickens... He simply invited the City council to mind their own, because we were having a sort of self-sufficiency/preparing for armed invasion/Greenie lifestyle. Very interesting! (Not all that different from our neighbours, except that they didn't keep chooks in the middle of the city, or have an arsenal in the laundry, and shooting lessons for the kiddies...)
