Musashi Himura, the ronin returns, is happy to be back Started conversation Oct 26, 2004
If im not being too cheeky id like to know the different occupations of my fellow guiders.
im a csr (customoer services rep) or call center monkey as i get called....well my mates sometimes call me it.....if i pay them a fiver...*sighs*
well any-hoo i work for a company called garlands, and more to the point work for one of garlands clients namely vodafone.
i have the very exiting job of porting and migrating numbers from external sp's
i.e o2, t-mobile, three, orange etc
internal sp's people who are from vodafone already but with one of our many sp's.
i.e PAYT, CPW, 4U, project telecom.
and now you all hate me because i work in a call center.

That's a bit of a sore point since I'm about to be made redundant.
I'm an admin manager. Nothing very exciting.

I'm a network administrator. Depending on which way you look at it you'll either say I'm paid to be evil, talk gobbledygook, play around with expensive toys all day, or a mixture of some/all of those.
Not so good at the being evil though

I'm an employment relations officer for a union although we are more than just a union and I would be lynched in some quarters for calling myself a union man(sic)

I sit in front of a computer all day translating French techno-babble into English techno-babble - half the time without knowing what the heck I'm actually talking about
The most fun bit is trying to get your head around the changes in work... One day I'm supposed to be an expert in the technicalities of cross-country skiing, the next I'm working on reports on the testing of Very High Voltage Switchgear and the next I'm writing maintenance manuals for buses!

All this could explain why every time I ring a call centre, I can never get through - you're all playing on hootoo!
As I believe is reasonably well-known, I am a teacher.
