The weird thing for me is that i find that i don't feel attracted to the kind of women that the media and other blokes obsess over (eg. Britney Spears or Victoria Beckham), I find those kind of women are so bland personality wise or are b*tchy slappers that they become repulsive.
I would much rather go out with a girl who had great personality even if she looked like the backend of a battlecruiser (though i doubt any of the women on this site will believe me when i say that).
Though even if i did meet a girl i got on well with i would be to shy to ask them out mainly because in my experience girls don't want to go out with guys they get on with because "they just want to be friends."

So watch out. It can have unexpected side effects.

If you look at models and such, I think a lot of them are not beautiful. They're simply bland. And I think that is on purpose. Rather than choose someone that some people would find really beautiful and some others wouldn't like, they go for the human equivalent of beige. Nice and inoffensive. You couldn't do a caricature of them, because they have no discerning features.

Don't forget make up & distance or air brushing. I bet that a lot of them don't look so much better than the average girl if you saw them close up without the added extras.

By the time we see it anywhere in the media there isn't an image we see in the world that doesn't go through Photoshop or a video equivalent.
