Make that eight, and if i sign out i guess that means seven. Surely that must be the record?

I just saw 14 people signed on, I feel so very empty.

I have been one of two logged on. Sunday AM GMT is a very quiet time. In fact the weekend is much quieter than week days, which says to me that most researchers are either logged in at work, or in University libraries etc.

I think I saw five people signed on on Christmas morning (est)... I was just checking my mail after the whole present opening thing.... that's actually too many people for Christmas morning....

the whole GMT/PST/EST really makes my posting weird. Sometimes no one responds for hours but then at a different time of day (i guess the most active time in the UK) I get a reply in 15 minutes.

Exactly. Same thing happens to me. But what's even weirder is when the system says things were posted... like "yesterday" or "two days ago"... especially when it's been four days (I know, because I date most of my journal entries). I always think that's kinda funny. In a very weird sort of way...

Yeah, it is wierd isnt it? But it feels good when you get some sort of reply whether its four days or four weeks ago

I was pleasantly surprised when i got a response to this one after 5 days or so.
FYI The record low at this stage is 2 people being signed on. I am presuming that will take some beating !!!
BTW C Hawke i hope you went and visited the other person and left a message at the time ??

I've never seen anyone logged on - the popup window doesn't want to work for me. Anyone have enough technical knowledge to tell me why that might be? I checked my preferences and I've got Javascript turned on.
Alternatively, is there a non-Java way of looking at who's logged on?

If you've regularly seen so many people on then why did you ask if there was a new record past 13? Or did you mean to write 113?

No i was asking about less than 13, but hey we can go for the record at both ends lowest and highest
As for Ozman, a bit out of my depth but is your homepage in guideML. You would be best off asking one of the Aces for help or go to the guideML clinic, both are linked to the H2G2 home page.
Cheers, Linus

This is the code for the pop-up window. It will only work if your page is in HTML (I think) or GuideML (I know):
<!--
function popusers (link) {
popupWin=window.open(link, 'popusers',
'status=1,resizable=1,scrollbars=1,width=165,height=340');
}
// -->
Whatever you want to put here.
Ozman, you'll have to put your page in GuideML. You'll lose your smileys, though (I think). The only tags you'll need other than that are
paragraph
tags. The opens the tag, the closes it.
I saw something like 53 or 54 on a bit earlier, maybe 21:00 GMT.
