We seem to be doing quite well in bits of fencing - junior, veteran, women's sabre

I thought they were bought in to stop Wales losing all the time!

But seriously, I thought they showed their potential in the way they beat Wales at the start of the competition.

Congrats to England for also retaining their Hong Kong 7s title at the weekend.

We are ok at horsey things. *The rest of the thread falls asleep*

We are good at three day eventing, not so good at dressage (though there is a lot of talent - equine and human - in the wings) and not so good at showjumping either, but that is because breeding has lagged behind Europe. But there is talent in the wings too.

I still think the horses should get the medals.

My view is that this England squad is a massively professional and competent unit withenormous ability and strength-in-depth. I think that they are unlikelytoget over confident (fallen at the last hurdle too often!), to be cowed by the reputations of the Southern Hemisphere sides or to find Australian conditions impossible to adapt to!

They have every chance of winning the world cup and deserve our support rather than suspicion and denigration.

So it's the All Black's again then, is it?
